The 1977-1990 b-bodys are the most significant of the last 50 years. They showed you can downsize and still have it be better. My family has owned countless #'s of these and we never had one that didnt make it well into old age comfortably. I currently own a 1981 Bonneville that I am slowly restoring. Call me a keeper of the flame.

1977 Caprice was the watershed; it proved that the direction GM was going was correct. The 1976 B Bodies were much larger and about 800 lbs heavier. the '77 models were at least 10 inches shorter, and had more interior room than the '76's.

I think Corvette was almost as important. B Body wins by a nose.

The Corvette definitely - that's the first thing everyone thinks of when you say GM.
