I wouldn't drive one after my expereicne with Chinese dirtbikes, but you can't deny they are making huge progress-very fast. Look what they came up with a year ago...now this classy looking sedan. Like it or not, 5 years from now, we are going to be in trouble.

A decent attempt by Geely.

What a lovely design. This looks very professionally done and I would imagine that it is the product of an outside contractor, not that Geely is without design capability, but the detail of the head and tail lights is particularly imaginative and perfectly executed by someone with some real skill.

The whole car though is let down by the bonnet/hood and grille. To me it looks like Geely bought the design from a foreign firm prior the new passenger design rules that require extra room between the hood and engine for crush zone absorption. And then an internal designer redid the hood and grille to puff it out for the extra room and lost some of the elegant lines found elsewhere on the car. And added that tacky drilled cross bar for good measure….. yuck!

But overall still a very well styled car let down by it's Tundra-esque nose.

It's somewhat generic, but at least it's no ripoff. Honestly, besides some vague similarities, I'd disagree with most of the attempts here to pin down what was directly borrowed.

Not if you mean the Teana I was in last week. Are there different Teanas?
That drilled cross bar looks strange to me but it may be something Chinese like and lets face it if you were exporting this it would be a soda to change.
Isnt marvelous though. They try something new and get criticised - if they dont they are acused of copying. If this car is a copy then I havent seen anything here that its copied from. I think the badge looks more like something from a 50s Packard or other "lost brand' than Porsche.
Does anyone know what sort of engine it is supposed to have. If its a V6 then maybe it has enough room for the pedestrian regs. I would hope you would need it to be any higher than that -if so we can look forward to dreadful design to cope with it.
As for the model -there are plenty like that. The last thing they need is a cheeseburger. I have a young lady sitting across from me who does some modelling and she would certainly give the young lady above a run for her money on looks -most pleasant!
