New guy here

About 6 months ago my wife bought a 02 Ponatic Bonneville with the 3.8 V6 in it. Very good car the owner before us had it & moslty used in on the interstate. Over the last few weeks the tranmission has been shifting hard it's acting like it's trying to catch up with the engine when I step on the gas hard. The car just hit the 100,000 mile mark I've had the oli changed & the tranny serviced. After I had the tranny serviced it kept shifting hard that day the next day it stopped completly, today it started back.

Any thought on what it might be?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to GMI, sorry you got a problem to start off here...

Does it also shudder from a take off under a partial to hard throttle?

I'd manage a guess that the PCS (pressure control solenoid) was going bad...

It's an involved repair as far as labor is concerned, as the it's mounted on the transmission valve body which is acessed under the side cover...

That would be my guess...

I had a delayed shift and a shudder on my 1998 Park Avenue @ 136K miles...a PCS fixed it...thanks be to God!

Not really I know it's easy to catch a slushbox sleeping & all... I think it's done that once or twice to be honest.
