How much money do you think it cost to develop the XFE Cobalt? Not a lot I'd bet. GM actually responded to the market, and quickly, so I think they deserve a bit of praise.Suggestion to ALL auto manufacturers ... FORGET the tweaks ... unless they are FREE (time, manpower, and/or money)!
GIVE US some REAL FUEL FRUGAL vehicles with fuel consumptions LESS than 2.1 gallons/100 miles combined average!
That is 47 mpg and above!
And IF YOU can do it QUICKLY ... WITHOUT small clean TURBO DIESEL engines (like the ones you are NOW selling in Europe) ... MORE POWER to YOU!!!
Keep in mind that in China ... the cost to purchase a vehicle with an engine larger than 2 liters and 4 liters will increase 25% and 40% respectively Sept. 1, 2008.
And India is considering their options to reduce fuel consumption AND emissions at the Ministerial level as of Aug. 19, 2008.
These cars exist already. They are just really small. Can't beat the laws of thermodynamicsSuggestion to ALL auto manufacturers ... FORGET the tweaks ... unless they are FREE (time, manpower, and/or money)!
