After seeing so many of these deals come along, its hard to find the same sense of gotta-buy urgency there was when the Employee Pricing thing was new, then replaced by "value pricing" - then here again - then a Red Tag sale.....anyway, the kind of car I'd want from GM -- a 4-cyl. van not unlike the Mazda5 -- is not here yet.

I might check out a 4-door, 4-cyl. GMC Canyon just to see how it prices out, though.

I cant believe this new marketing scheme is fooling everyone! The GM Employee for Everyone price has been here for over a month, with bigger incentives than now, the option to lease, an average of $1000 more rebates, 0% financing, etc., and everyone is just now realizing this. I dont understand!

I'm really tempted to, my daily driver has over 110k on it now, and I'm itching for something new. I like both the 09 Vibe and the new Malibu, I wonder what I could get on a trade for my Matrix and GS.

I think it's a mental thing. When you see a $34,000 MSRP vehicle with $29,000 printed on the window, it seems like a better deal...no haggling, no incentives, no guesswork.

Anyone thinking about buying a HUMMER to carry the family around in? I know gas in high, but a H3 luxury is $25k.:D

That's my problem too... I looked over GM's entire lineup, and I can't find a single vehicle I would want to own, even at a huge discount. Maybe an STS-V, but I haven't seen one of those on lots in years.

I see a few that I would buy if I were looking...

midsize sedan - Malibu
sport compact - Cobalt SS/HHR SS
sports car - Corvette
roadster - Solstice GXP/Sky Redline
performance sedan - G8 GT
truck - Silverado
compact - Astra XR
SUV - Enclave/Acadia
luxury - CTS
Fullsize SUV - Tahoe/Yukon
Hybrid - Aura Greenline

I consider all of those as good or better than anything on the market. Considering price, I'd say they are better.

What nonsense are you talking? Employee pricing for everyone has not been out for a month! While you are right on that incentives were better, in some cases this is a better deal. But the best part about it, nobody was coming to showrooms with 0% and $6,000 in rebates, but Employee Discount will have perceived value and showrooms will be full just like last time!

Sorry, I'm not speaking "nonsense". The "GM Employee Price For Friends" program came out on 7/24/08, check my post back then if you want, where a GM Employee could give you the #. All they are doing is selling it better than they did last month, this is a desparate measure by GM, and all they are doing is pi//ing off GM Employees. And yes, the incentives were much better.

I will disagree with you that the showrooms are fuller now than then, trust me, they are not.
