A my idea for Volvo is for them to make a sub compact car to compete against the Mini Cooper. The engines would be Ford's 1.6 I4 and 1.6 I4 ecoboost to compete against the S. The platform of course would be the Fiesta's. Because of exchange rate, it would be built in the US.

S20-4 door
C10-2 door
V10-3 door
v20-5 door

What do you think?

The C30 T5 is only a thousand or so more expensive than the Mini Cooper S. So, it sort of competes with the Mini Cooper in that regard.

In reality, people cross-shop the C30, GTI, and Cooper S all the time, mostly because they are relatively compact, 3-door, turbocharged European hatches priced around $22K-23K... It really doesn't have too much do with storage capacity or engine size/output.
