Monster improvement! The TRD Pro version is downright good looking.

They went a little overboard with the styling. Next to the Colorado this looks overwrought. It will probably remain the segment leader but I think this redesign leaves room for the Colorado and Canyon to gain some market share.

The air dam on these is absolutely comical.

looks worth the wait. these are going to be crazy expensive for what they are. hopefully it feels bigger inside than current taco and 4runner.

tacoma = Canyon / Colorado.

That air dam is crazy- I haven't even seen bad aftermarket dams that huge.
Whole thing is overwrought.

The Alex on Autos vid showed that the back seat actually has less room than before.

Yes, that's what I meant. Changed it.
Styling, engine, mpg, doesn't matter, Taco fans only care that it's a Toyota.

I like the looks of it but still the gm twins are better on the eyes IMO. At least it didn't come out "as bad" as the Tundra redo, lol.

Fine by me. In my opinion back seats have gotten too big. I'd take a smaller back seat to reduce the overall length of a pickup.

Toyota actually put a usable bed unlike GM with their vestigial bed Colorado/Canyon, good job Toyota.

Nice looking. This certainly ensures death to the 4.0L in the 4Runner. Sad. Loved the ‘13 T4R SR5 with the 4-0 we had a decade ago. Great engine and smooth power delivery. Exceptional low end pull too. The only thing it didn’t have was fuel economy.

More turbo 4s I guess. I still can’t bring myself to accept 4 cylinder BOF trucks or SUVs.

The pro exterior looks nice but the other trims look as bad as the current trucks. That air damn is HUGE!

The interior has some nice touches but overall sucks with all those square buttons and endless sea of gray.

I agree with all of the comments but the fact that it offers a 6 speed manual almost has me not even caring about the looks anymore.

I like it! I’d really like to see GM do a hybrid option as well. Still prefer the Canyons styling but this new Taco is awful nice.

6 speed manual is the Bomb! Glad to see them offer something other than the grandma automatic everyone else drives.

Completely agree. Totally overstyled both inside and out. All the bulges and angles are ridiculous. Bob Lutz might say it looks like an "angry kitchen appliance." I feel the same way about the new Tundra and Sequoia.

On a side note, I was behind a new Tundra with its silly sequential turn signals. Those things are so played out at this point. They were kinda cool on Cougars and Thunderbirds in the 60s, but I'm way over them. Just because you can do something, doesn't always mean you should.

It looks larger than a Ford ranger.
It’s the “chunky” macho styling. I’d like to see them all (everyone in the segment) parked next to each other and not just the paper specs.

Sidenote: Are tailgates on pickups removable anymore? With all the tech they have now (cameras, remote release, built in steps, storage pockets, built in work bench, and now power open and close) it seems like they can’t detach like pickups of the past.
