All Ford Workers to Get Bonuses

DETROIT (AP) -- Ford Motor Co. says it will pay performance bonuses to all hourly and salaried workers in the U.S. and Canada and its management team around the world because the company is making progress toward becoming profitable again.
Chief Executive Alan Mulally said in a message to all workers on Wednesday that the Dearborn, Mich.-based company fell short of its market share goals in North and South America, and Asia. But it met objectives in all other categories including cost reductions, quality, cash flow and financial results.

Ford lost $2.7 billion last year and $12.6 billion in 2006. But Mulally said in the message that the global company is poised to become profitable again next year.

I totally agree that a small reward greatly helps company morale.

Also, they have made huge progress from just a couple years ago. Heck, from a $13 bil loss to nearly breaking even is a huge net difference. They accomplished all their goals, except the bottom line. That all deserves some recognitition.
