First thing is, higher level Malibus come with the door tweeter up near the A-pillar. First of all, if I were to buy the tweeters from like ebay, are the connection already there on the door for it? And does anyone know if they make a big difference in the sound? Going from my Taurus which had them to this car it seemed like a difference to me.

Second, I want to get a spoiler eventually and I was curious how those are installed. Are there holes where you drill through already shown on the inside of the trunk? My Taurus was like that. Anyone have a tech diagram on how to install it? Also, how much does the spoiler cost from the dealer?

I always thought that a spoiler would at least make our Malibu somewhat appealing in comparison to the new body style...

Yeah, especially looking at it straight from the side, it looks weird. The spoiler gives it a more sporty look to offset the straight body line.

And one day I want to get alloys, but the spoiler comes first.

yes the tweeter will make a difference(adding another speaker will almost always make a difference). I don't know about the Malibu specifically but on every other car I've messed with that has had a base and up graded sound system, they have used different speakers(with no extra plug), but you should be able to tie them in with the existing weiring(with a little electrical know how).

So typically, a car with tweeters will have a plug for it right on the regular lower door speaker? (Basically just splitting that audio wire in two?)

If you want to do it yourself and don't have enough automotive knowlwdge to feel really comfortable doing the upgrades unguided try crutchfield.com. They generally add all of the needed harness adapters and give pretty good diagrams and instructions. Usually the prices are competitive and if you watch for a while you can catch some pretty good sales. Also they have a search engine that once you put the info in will tell you exactly what fits.

I think this is the right search for you.
