Witness Jaguar, being better at being Cadillac than Cadillac:

Pointless gimmicks that make you go "ooohhh!" and only marginally increase your quality of life. This and the pillarless car, plus ghost cars and whatever else.

This is the kind of gimmickry that Cadillac needs to put in its cars.

You really want a cue experience on the windows, especially in the winter.......? The armrest is a very often used part of the car that kind of unavoidable. Jaguar is just asking for complaints
Lol!!

Clarification... I think this is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever seen. But I'm talking about gimmicks in general.

GM has none. Where da gimmickry at?

The rear view mirror..... Augmented reality is coming. Auto Park is nice. LTE.
What do I touch to raise them? there isn't any glass to touch. What if I only want to lower them halfway down or maybe a quarter of the way? How do I open the passenger window if I want both driver and passengers windows open a certain amount?. How would I open the right rear passengers window while driving?. How do I clean the windows of all the smudge marks from me touching them if when I touch them they disappear? Are people becoming this damned lazy?.

Invisible hood. Lexus has had an automatic parking feature for what, a decade? Hasn't Audi demonstrated the ability to park itself without a human pilot to even find a space? Can't the i3?

This is what happens when you let your engineers operate in a reality-free environment.

How damn hard is it to push a power-down button?

What about pets and small chirruns who touch the glass? Suppose the bill of your hat brushes the glass at 80? Suppose someone tosses a newspaper in the back seat, the window goes down, the paper flies out, the cop behind you pulls you over for littering, and if you're lucky enough  to live in The Peoples Republik of Californica, you'll cop a 500 dollar fine. Or is it $1000? KEWL!

This guy and his boss should both be fired for wasting corporate resources and for being fantastically stupid. Do they have lawyers on staff at Jag?

Audi's requires infrastructure in the parking lot to make it happen if I can remember correctly.

Cadillac has super cruise coming. There my be other surprises coming
We all seem to agree this idea is moronic, yet it's being held up as an example of 'what to do'.
Where is the Jag feature Cadillac is supposed to gain positive inspiration from?

Clearly, it's not retaining buyers after their first Jag experience...
After seeing the interior of the new XE, I think Jaguar needs to refocus on the fundamentals before giving us smudgy windows that don't work.

I want to be able to touch the speedometer and be going that fast.

Buy a Hellcat. You won't be able to even reach the speedo.
JLR is full of crap lately. Always talking about a new gimmicky technology that they are working on, yet we never see.

Jag is one of my favorite brands but they're turning into d-bags. Shut up and show some results.
I think it's a neat idea, but I can imagine accidentally opening the window quite a bit.
I could give a crap about this stuff.
Gimme some wood, dammit!
