I've got a friend with a 1997 Olds 88 with the 3800 Series II V6 and their check engine light is on. They had it diagnosed and was told the part was the Upper Plenum. Does anybody have any clue as to how hard this part is to change? It sits inbetween the fuel rails right on top of the engine. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure how they diagnoses it to be the intake, but it's a pretty straight forward job. There was a recall for upper intakes on some 3800s, you might want to check into that before spending any money.
