Because at that same 51 mph, my 1993 Camry gets 40+ mpg. ;) That is terrific gas mileage though, and you know I am a Cadillac fan!

P.S. the ashtray in my Camry is easy to remove too! :)

Did you calculate the fuel milage yourself or use the trip computer - I've found in my 2002 Pontiac GP GTP and 2008 Chevy Malibu LTZ that the computer is very optimistic - funny thing is the better it shows my milage to be the more off it is - i.e. if they say I have 24 mpg my actual will within 1 mpg or less. But if they say 30 mpg my real milage will be 26 to 27 mpg...

On a related note - is a car as fuel efficient at 1500 rpm at 30 mph (say in 3rd gear) as it is at 1500 rpm at 50 mph (in 6th gear)? Please note I'm making up the gear, speed and rpm - but I think you get the general idea of my question - does same rpm = same fuel efficiency?

A GOOFY camry is NOT a Cadillac !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No way, no how and NO comparison anyhoo...................

Sheesh............
Sheesh, you think I don't know the difference? Take a look at the top of my signature block sometime. I haven't changed it (except to update mileage and pictures) since I have joined.

This thread was about comparing Cadillacs to smaller cars.
As far as Camrys being goofy, I don't know WTF you're talking about. Plain.....maybe, boring.....sure, but goofy....I don't see it.

eurohazard,
This is fantastic.
Since you entered the thread, all the attention is focused on you and your Camry.
Wooooo!
Never mind the OP accomplishments.
We want to see pictures of your Camry.
Don't waste any time.
This thread is worthless without your Camry pictures.
And please do feel free to fill this thread about your wonderful Camry stories.
That's why we all come to GMI.

Since you missed it from way back in post #2, I'll quote for you.....

Don't be bashful.
Don't back down.
You totally owned the other person.
Yeah, what you are driving may be the stylistic equivalent of pablum driven by every other babysitter and grandmother,
but for once in your life,
you owned face in an internet forum.

You are so totally awesome!
You're making such a strong contribution to GMI.

Take your recognition like a man.
Bring on those Camry pictures.
Fill this thread up with your Camry.
It's all anyone can think about is your 1993 Camry.

Get with the program.

^ I feel like I just got emo served/owned.

You do realize if I had owned an I4 Malibu, I would have posted the same exact thing, right? Except I would have replaced "Camry" with "Malibu" of course.

All is good. I am going boating, temps are going to be mid 80's this weekend, and I just spend 4 hours in the emergency room, but my wife is OK now. Yep, all is good.

I was happy to get 24mpg on the last tank of gas in my Colorado, then I read your post and realized my mileage sucks...lol
I thought you were talking of a trip in Colorado lol, never heard of a Colorado till now. Had to do a web search lol.

http://www.chevrolet.com/colorado/?seo=goo_|_2008_Chevy_Retention_|_IMG_Chevy_Colorado_|_Chevy_Colorado_|_colorado

p.s. once upon a time I drove from Detroit to Toledo limits in a '56 ford at 50mph on 50 cents worth of gas before I put a 2-4bbl on it. low octane gas was 19.6 cents per gallon then lol !:yup:

Congratulations.
32 mpg in something that looks this good and this big is incredible.
May you have many more troublefree miles with your DeVille.

Mine is maroon/burgundy with red leather, absolutely no rust, good color still, don't know whether to touch up a few blemishes or get an early shieb overlay lol.

My gas mileage isn't as good as yours, but I was driving a little faster. My example...2002 Dodge Grand Caravan w/ 3.3L V6 got 25.8 mpg at 57 mph. Speed was measured by GPS mileage calculated at fill-up.

I've viewed 99 mpg instant FE on my Reatta's CRT, and to think the 3800 has been discontinued!

Absolutely not! :D

For the best fuel efficiency you need an RPM at the point where it is most efficient probably somewhere near the torque peak. But the aerodynamic drag goes up with the square of velocity. So the two curves will meet somewhere and that is your best point. Probably around 40 - 60 mi/h.

As for the 32 mpg Cadillac at 51 mi/h, well hell the reason I wouldn't do that is because then, I'd have to drive 51 mi/h! I get bored at 75, no way in hell I can drive 55, and 51 is even less than 55 :lmao: What'll it get at 90?
