Tried doing a search on the above but didnt come back with anything. WHat do you people think of the above motor? I just bought a 2007 Malibu LTZ w/7500 miles on it. Seems like a solid engine. Is it comparable to the 3800 at all? I've heard this term "cam walk" I dont know to much about it, but have a rough idea. Is that common at all in the 3.5s?

Personally, I like the 3500. Everytime I drive one, (my dad has one in one of his cars), I swear it's smoother than the 3800 Series-II in my Grand Prix.

If you like to work on your own cars and such, I found the 3500 to be much more of a PITA to work on than the 3800. When I did the lower intake manifold gaskets on my 3800, it was really easy. When I changed the same gaskets on my dad's 3500, it was a PITA.

I removed the lower intake manifold (to do performance mods) on the DOHC VQ motor in my G35, and actually found it to be much easier to access than on the 3500 on my dad's car.

But I still like the 3500, so congrats on the car :)
