I believe I've read that all 2015 Ford F150 models will be governed at 100, just to give some perspective.
One simply should not be driving a stock pick up above that speed. They are not built for it. And yes, GM does have a right to know how fast you are traveling as it would be them who would get sued in the event of a tragedy. Hence, the speed governors employed by GM & Ford.
