He says that the new XT4 is not just up to competitor standards but beyond competitors.

I am going to grab another video that includes a test drive when I get back. BRB

Review of the following review: I think this guy goes too much into the minutia of this feature and that feature and not enough of what he thinks of the vehicle. But he does like it.

But I get very annoyed with extremely tall reviewers going on about rear seat space. You are 6’3” dude, you are an extreme outlier. 95% of people are 5’9” and under. Less than 1% are more than six feet tall. I understand your complaint for your situation, but please point out that you are to height what billionaires are to wealth. You are an outlier, be clear about that.

Unfortunately, not a lot of drive reviews are out yet, so, this is what I’ve found.

14% of US men are 6' or taller thank you! 1% would be women!

At the end of the video, did I hear correctly hear the reviewer say he never heard of the XT4 until this refresh??? I either need my hearing checked or I can't believe this guy reviews cars.

Really nice upgrade for the interior.

I don't think I've read about any changes to the suspension. I've not driven one in a couple of years, but my impression after driving a couple was that the suspension didn't have the sophistication I like in a luxury vehicle, felt more Chevy than Cadillac. I'm not expecting it to have the handling sophistication of my CT4, but it didn't have that fluidity that my wife's Volvo XC60 has.

I think he said that, but I think he meant it metaphorically, because right after saying that he talked about the original XT4’s small screen and how this interior was a big upgrade over that and he talked about how with the refresh it went from having a subpar interior to an interior that was an upgrade over that one and was now better than much of the competition.

I think by “I never heard of the XT4“ he meant it had a rather anonymous looking interior, or something similar to that because in context he knew about the previous version’s interior.

Was going to lease one for my wife. Leased her a 2020 XT4 and it was a pretty good car. Got a red one in recently that kept catching my eye everytime I walked past it. After testing it out, the new one is a bunch of the same except for the obvious screen (which is AWESOME),the seats, and some trim details. Unfortunitly, we got a good lease on the other and this one would of been too expensive.

It's a mystery to me that everybody seems to hate the 2.0L in the XT4 but nobody has a problem with it in any other car. For example, Consumer Reports says the engine is too buzzy when revved but doesn't make a similar observation in the virtually mechanically identical Envision. Nor do they say anything like that for the CT4, CT5, XT5, or XT6.

The engine is buzzy. And it struggles when trying to accelerate at higher speeds. XT4 is also heavier than Envision, while also having slightly more HP.
While I don't know for sure, there could just be NVH and/or isolation differences between the 2 vehicles.

The last time I drove the XT4, I just recall it being a little buzzy but more unrefined for its class. And against its competition, it's a bit glaring that it is that unrefined. One of those video in the earlier posts shows the hood open with the engine running.... and yeah... it's buzzy.

This guy really likes it. I think there’s a bit of hyperbole in some of his comments on the acceleration, but he claims at the beginning of the video that 0-60 is between 6.6-7.5. Then when he does a couple of tests he flashes “high sixes” on the screen.

That would be an improvement over what most of the car mags got by about a half second. He put it into “sport 2“ to get that time. He praises the 9-speed automatic and says it’s very fast. We know it’s the same powertrain as the original XT4, so if there really is an improvement in 0-60 times I’d guess they fine tuned the powertrain to maximize acceleration.

My first thought is that it looks fantastic in black (as a Cadillac should).

To make sure nobody sees a hint of hedging here let me be clear and unequivocal:

This is, hands down, the best front end in the segment, and beyond that possibly the best front end the segment ever saw. Cadillac was late to the small luxury SUV segment and the front end of the first XT4 gave the segment quite a nice new front end to begin with.

But good God! This makes the first XT4’s front end look like a toddler’s toy. If the segment ever had a better front end, I can’t think of it. There are segment’s above that would do well to have this front added to its collection.

We love the computer screen dash and the driving experience of our new 2024 XT4. Very disappointed that GM left out the Front Parking Assist. Will have to bring this up with Cadillac since they are retrofitting the 2022 and 2023 with Front Park Assist. Hopefully they can retrofit the 2024 for us.

Nice! Post a picture when you have a chance and welcome to GMI! As said above, I think the new interior will be a big draw for people - looks really cool.

Anything that particularly pleases you about your new XT4?

The 2024 Xt4 drives great with the turbo and smooth shifting transmission. The new touch screen dash is awesome with Alexa and and Android auto. I will post photos of the new interior. Only disappointment is GM not integrating the Front Parking assist as we discovered it after purchase. One would assume a $50K car would have it. They need to retrofit as they did for the 22 and 23 years.

It rides very nice. Firm but not bumpy. Do not feel the pebbles on the road. The engine transmission mating is perfect. Can't feel shift points and the turbo takes off when needed. Only issues we are having are electronic. Memory seats keep returning to presets, sound goes off and I have to restart the car, and seat cooling doesn't seem to work. Only had it and rove it 200 miles. The new 33 inch computer dash is cool but they over did the controls. You have to be an airline pilot to figure them all out and use them. I find that the car is actually distracting when driving. They should have focused on safety. Instead, they removed safety for bling and wow factor.

I just read Cadilac's description of how front park assist works, to bring me up to speed on the conditions it operates under & how it interfaces with the driver. I can't imagine wanting or finding use for such a feature.
