It's really not much of a bump from the current model . A little under 3 percent more HP. I guess if they add a lot more goodies.....

Was watching a twitch streamer last night who does weekly drag strip streams from Texas and last night one of these almost took a large bite out of the wall. Got loose on take off got it back under control, went another 100 feet and kicked the backend out again and was literally another tap of the brakes away from it turning right into the wall.

They need to give driver lessons it seems with the purchase of one of these cars haha, it is amusing to see people with crazy expensive cars who cant drive them for jack s#@#.

I was hoping for a surprise z28...but it'll probably be a refresh of the ZL1 to bring it in line w/ the post 2018 refreshes to go along w/ the LT4 upgrades that the BWs received. Remember the ZL1 still wears design elements from the original gen 6 Camaro.
Don't you think the Z28 would have to come after the ZO6 comes out?

Z/28 doesn't need to be NA...it was proven with the last gen Z06 that NA/SC/TT doesn't matter, as long as the performance is there. Then again, does it even need to have another motor...it could've just been the LT1 w/ the ZL1 1LE's aero package w/ some the same weight savings from the Gen 5 Z/28.

What, the Z28 is supposed to be only N/A. The Z28 is a track purpose car. It's not like the Zo6.

You are dead wrong.

Correct

there is no logical reason why it has to be an N/A motor

Or they could simply skip the Z/28 all together just so they don't upset scottieeeeeeeee ;)

That's why they are not building one for this generation.

The only reason the 7th gen Zo6 is because the LS7 could not meet future emissions for that motor. Which is why the Z06 is going back to N/A.

Well the rumor was that the 5th gen ZL1 was going to be called Z/28, but late in the game they changed it since the S/C engine wasn't what Z/28 was about, and they were ultimately able to do the LS7 Z/28. Gen 6 (so far) has skipped Z/28, so...

That said it's still only rumors that put the C8 Z06 as N/A, we'll know for sure next month!
The problem is it's really tough to draw a line about what option codes really mean. C7 Z06 got heavier, automatic options, and convertible options, and GM sold a metric ton of them. They're unlikely to go back to a more hardcore version that appeals to fewer people. The 4th Gen Z/28 was a bit more focused than SS, but not really as extreme track upgrades as something like the 5th Gen got, or any of the recent Z06s. But 5th Gen sets the standard to be quite track focused, more so than Z06 (at least C7 gen), so it all becomes pretty muddled.

4th Gen Z28s weren't focused at all, it was the base level V8 car, SS was the more focused car.

Yeah...I think he got 4/5/6th gen all mixed up...pretty sure he meant 5th gen SS/Z28 where he said 4th.

Ehh, the Z06 was supposed to be the track focused Vette but they had a lot of thermal handling, ie overheating issues when used on a track.

My suspicious is the 6th Gen ZL1 1LE was going to be the Z28 but GM cut out the N/A motor and just kept the LT4 with more track parts.
