I'm still trying to warm up to the new front end. It's edgy looking while the rest of the thing is still into smoother more fluid lines.

I've never been a big fan of this generation Equinox, but this is a solid refresh; I approve.

What I find odd is that the older, larger last gen Equinox a lot heavier with larger displacement motor and less cogs got better EPA ratings.
Lastly, They should have done some interior updates to include, digital cluster, larger screen and sliding second low seat, kept the diesel or added a hybrid in leu of the diesel.

:):):)

But seriously it looks like a solid refresh (except dropping the 2.0T).
List it under; "strange but true"?

Yeah, I looked it up, the take rate on the 2.0L Turbo was really low, not sure what the price premium it was, but if dealers don't order it won't sell.

💩 I'm still trying to warm up to the Equinox itself...This is the 3rd generation of it and I still don't like it.
I sampled the last generation at the Vegas Motor Trend auto show and had my finances been better that would have been the one to have vs. that '11 Malibu, shoulda waited and got one of those :cautious: Oh Well.

added a hybrid in leu of the diesel.
An Equinox Hybrid using the Voltec based powertrain from the discontinued Malibu Hybrid would provide an impressive combination of efficiency and performance. Competitors RAV4, Escape, CR-V, and Tucson all offer hybrid models that are selling well in the U.S. market. That makes GM's abandonment of Voltec even more galling.

Toyota's sales of Rav4 Hybrid/Prime are over 100K YTD. Total "electrified" +122% YTD, it's now running 24% of all Toyota YTD sales in the US.

Good info dannyg. Very impressive numbers for Toyota's hybrids.

Fun fact: If you add hybrid only Venza to RAV4 Hybrid and RAV4 Prime, the CYTD sales figure for those three "electrified" vehicles (153,050) exceeds that of Chevy Equinox (151,110)! 😮

For comparison, GM's "electrified" vehicle sales in the same period totaled fewer than 25k.

Um, no it didn't. These are both AWD with, in the spirit of obtaining the highest fuel economy, the base engine option. The 3.6L V6 vs. 2.0 Turbo in the 2018+ is even worse.

The 2WD Equinox was rated at 32 mpg highway seems like it was revised at some point to 31 mpg. Still the Older Equinox is a much bigger and substantial vehicle and a larger displace motor, plus bigger fuel tank, and it’s heavier..

^^^ My last fill up this AM garnered me a 26.6 mpg. mostly in town city driving 1.5L Turbo AWD. 😕 I guess I need to keep my right foot out of the turbocharger a little more;). 🧐
