I was saying he is correct that it's a performance luxury car and that the interior should be the last thing people focus on when talking about this car.

It's not that I don't know or understand. It makes no sense to me that the focus on the interior should come before what makes the car go fast.
Think I am wrong? Well Jay Leno said it best, when people use to complain about the interior of the CTS-V.
This car is ment for performance if you are complaining about the interior then your shopping for the wrong vehicle.
I believe his opinion cares more weight than mine. But we think alike. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

It's a luxury car that has a high performance trim option, not a performance car. Jay Leno's schtick is not proof of anything.

The idea is to sell as many vehicles as possible and therefore appeal to as broad of a range of people within the defined ranges of a vehicle.
Everyone has different wants out of a vehicle. Some, like you, only care about 0-60 and don't care about the interior. You'd be fine with a wood board as a seat. That's fine - nothing wrong with that. But, there are some people that want that performance AND a sweet interior. I myself have no issue for someone to expect a mac-daddy interior when you are spending $120k on a car. I spent extra on my Caddy over a V8 Camaro because I wanted more refinement and nicer interior over the Camaro.
Your issue, as with everything else, is you can't conceive of a different way of thinking other than yours. Your argument boils down to "my way of thinking is the only way of thinking". And, from the pushback you are getting, I think you can see there are other ways to think.
Look at all of those very expensive German sporty cars that sell better than anything Cadillac makes - and in some cases the Cadillac's perform better - think of what the consumer is saying - interiors matter, prestige matters.
Or, if the interior doesn't matter, tell me what the difference is between a Chevy and a Cadillac other than the badge? Why should a Cadillac command a premium over a Chevy?
Look at what GM is doing now with the Corvette. I can't tell you how many performance mags gave a review about how great the Vette is, except for the interior. GM has put a world class interior, finally, in the C8 - if the interior doesn't matter, why were car guys complaining for decades AND why did GM bother to put a world class interior in the C8?

I think we need to keep in mind that the interior is pretty good. Just not Mercedes S class level of swank. The folks who are going to buy this car will be fine with it. Put this side by side with the M5 CS and the skeptics will be surprised. Throttle House is the first who I've heard say anything about the interior.

It's not that I only care about performance, I have no problem with luxury interiors when it applies to a car that is a luxury car. My CT6 is not a performance car, it's a luxury car and it has a nice plush interior. That should be the focus on a CT6.
My new Silverado has a truck interior which is exactly what it should have.

Which the performance is the focus - the problem, and what people's argument are, is that the interior IS taking people's focus off the performance. I think it is fine, but other's don't think it is good enough for a $120k car.
Same as the Corvette. As a car enthusiast, can I assume you've been reading car magazines for decades? If so, how many times have you seen "the Corvette is great, but the interior lets it down". In that case, the cheapness of the interior overshadowed the awesome performance capabilities of the car.
That's all that people are saying. Cadillac is improving their interiors - they are getting the message. People have different thresholds of what is appropriate - you can't force them to think the way you do anymore than someone can force you to change your opinion on what you personally like. But one thing I do know is that when I read a review of a $120k German performance car I never read comments about the interior not being good enough, and my take is that is NOT bias talking.

If tomorrow I got cash to spare I would surely consider buying it. Even if the automatic transmission makes it a better performer I would still take the manual. If I ever got enough cash to buy such a toy I would have it the way I like it even if it slower by a tenth of a second.
This thread motivated me to check the new M5 interior (the last M5 I was interested in was the one that came with manual and had nice proportions/design and didn't have the ugly pig nose) and I was left unimpressed. That interior looks dated to me, especially considering the price-tag. In pictures it doesn't look that better. Maybe has better leather etc. I haven't sat in both cars.

That just means practice and refinement of technique...besides,it's still faster than a Benchracer.

While waiting for a barber chair to open, I read the C&D review of this car last Friday. It was perhaps the single most glowing car review that I've ever read. It really made you want this car, and made you feel kind of bad that few people will buy it and that it's the end of an era.
The only quibble was with an interior that they though was bland, which I don't agree with at all. Probalby depends on what you're looking for. I think it's tasteful and elegant.
