Thoughts?

I feel that the 10spd would have given him the "thrust" that he wanted. They only tested the 6spd in this video and the manual has much longer gearing. I think the 10spd would have given a similar feel as the BMW M5 CS

That's what I was wondering. They liked the car, but they always had to mention how it just didn't measure up to the M5 whether that was the interior or the turn in. Let's see a review with apples to apples transmissions. The 10-spd is suppose to be outstanding. Let's see that.

That exhaust soundtrack is orgasmic. Sad this is the last of this type of Caddy. Makes me wonder - If all or most cars will be EVs soon, how different can they actually be in the way they drive?
As a last hooray they should have stuffed this engine in the CT4. I’m sure it can fit if it fits in the Camaro.

Sounded like a good positive review, they all cant be 100% sunshine and rainbows...I agree, yet again, with these guys about almost everything said. The interior isn't as good as the E63/M5's but overall its an amazing car and probably the greatest performance bargain, at the M5/E63 undercut price, in automotive history.

And yes...the CT5 is a 5 series competitor and the CT4 is a 3 Series competitor....don't care what anyone says to the contrary.

Why do people always focus on the interior of cars like this? The last time I checked the CT5 V is a performance car. That should be the focus, the platform, suspension, brakes, steering, engine, transmission, differential.

But know they feel the need to separate these cars based on the interior dash feel, or the material on the door panels.

You do realize why the BMW and Benz of the world focus on interiors so much? It's because it hides the fact that their cars don't perform as well as the CT5 V/CTS V for the price.

And people fall for it every time, hook line and sinker.

A performance car should be judged based on that!

CT5-V Blackwing is both a performance car and a luxury car. Customers for this type of vehicle demand both thrilling driving dynamics and an exquisitely finished interior.

I think we need to keep in mind that the interior is pretty good. Just not Mercedes S class level of swank. The folks who are going to buy this car will be fine with it. Put this side by side with the M5 CS and the skeptics will be surprised. Throttle House is the first who I've heard say anything about the interior.

This thread motivated me to check the new M5 interior (the last M5 I was interested in was the one that came with manual and had nice proportions/design and didn't have the ugly pig nose) and I was left unimpressed. That interior looks dated to me, especially considering the price-tag. In pictures it doesn't look that better. Maybe has better leather etc. I haven't sat in both cars.

If tomorrow I got cash to spare I would surely consider buying it. Even if the automatic transmission makes it a better performer I would still take the manual. If I ever got enough cash to buy such a toy I would have it the way I like it even if it slower by a tenth of a second.

That just means practice and refinement of technique...besides,it's still faster than a Benchracer.

While waiting for a barber chair to open, I read the C&D review of this car last Friday. It was perhaps the single most glowing car review that I've ever read. It really made you want this car, and made you feel kind of bad that few people will buy it and that it's the end of an era.

The only quibble was with an interior that they though was bland, which I don't agree with at all. Probalby depends on what you're looking for. I think it's tasteful and elegant.
