The next gen Cadillac Escalade should get a lot more luxury when it's revealed, but you'll have to pay more to get it, according to a report from Cadillac Society.

The report claims that the base price will jump by about $10,000 over the current model to about $85,000. According to the report, the next generation will also top out at roughly $120,000-roughly $20,000 more than the current mode.

That's a big price jump for a car whose most direct rival, the still quite new Lincoln Navigator, tops out at $100,000.

Customer are willing to pay more, though, for luxury SUVs. Both the Bentley Bentayga and the Lamborghini Urus cost more like $200,000. Mind you, those both pack much more performance than the Escalade does.

At the lower end of the spectrum, the new base price also brings the cost closer to the average sales price of an Escalade. Most people end up spending $85,000-$90,000 on their Escalade, anyway.

And the price increase shows Cadillac's creeping prices as it seeks to set itself apart from the increasingly luxurious GMC Yukon.

Expect to see the next generation Escalade to debut sometime in 2019.
