2019 Silverado The New ''Revoluntionary Enhancement'' A Plan That Could Change Everything, A Model For Everyone!

The current silverados are great but there is room in them for improvement such as technology and the need for new trim packages to suit every customer, The competition isn't helping this either. The next redesigned silverado is going to come out in the next 4-5 years time according to sources on the internet, But here is a place to start to make the Silverado even better than what they are now,

First of make the regular cab's cab 3'' longer, this is not such a big deal, simply remove 3 inches off the 8ft box and it now becomes 7.9ft box. Also make crew cab's cab 2'' longer and add 4'' on to the box's over hang, this creates a crew cab with 2 more inches of back seat legroom and 2 more inches or room in the box, this becomes a 6.8ft box.
This results in the new
Long box-7.9ft
Standard box-6.8ft
Short box-5.8ft

New Cab configurations
Regular cab 6.8ft box and 7.9ft box

Double cab 6.8ft box
Crew cab, 5.8ft box and 6.8ft box

A big thing is more of a rounder wheel wells....And I mean not round but make them similar to the gmc wheel wells.

Better tries be something for sure because the good year sr-a tires that comes on the trucks now is useless, They should put bridgestone or duratracs on them or even better the popular bf Goodrich ko's

A powercoated frame would be a really good standard thing across the lineup.

With the new trims it will give buyers more choice and it there should be a trim to suit everyone's personality. With a new transmission's such as the 8 & 10 speed and the 6 speed manual it will attract buyers from other brands because no other full size pickup currently offers the manual transmission anymore. Also the manual transmission should get better fuel economy numbers and every number counts.

I really don't think a redesign needs to happen. The new Silverado has a great design but in the next year or 2 it could use a little facelift such as the front end.

A flat for in the rear would be great for loading cargo in the rear, so in this case the trucks cab have to make 1 1/2 higher to have a flat floor, by doing this it make the truck look so much better or fill the floor in and decrease leg room by a little. All trucks are big, and are a pain to park. Why not bring the Quadrasteer idea back? But this time make it a cheaper option so people could afford it. A lighter aluminum tailgate would be a great weight saver and as well as aluminum bumpers and even a aluminum roof. More colour choices be great, A larger DIC like what is in the denali would be nice to carry over to the silverado higher models.

New All Terrain management for Z71 Limited
Normal mode for regular driving
Sport mode for higher-performance, on-road driving
Weather mode for rain, snow or ice
Mud and sand mode for muddy trails and terrain
Rock crawler mode for low-speed rock crawling

These new trim levels has a trim to suit everyone and their budget.
-Work Truck would be equilvant to todays WT model, but with a few more standard features.
-Cheyenne would be equilvant to the LS model today, a economy truck that has the basics but with more standard options.
-Z71 Offroad would be the same as today's popular LT Z71 but this time a cheaper option.
-Rally SS would be equilvant to the LT's version of the rally 2 but with more options. This would be something like the silverado SS back in its time. (or ram's sport model today, which kind of tells you this rally ss model will sell)
-Luxury LT would fall inbetween LT and LTZ, This is for buyers who wants selected options with lots of chrome.
-Luxury LTZ would be similar to todays LTZ but more standard options.
-Z71 Limited would be equilvant to the Z71 custom sport today and it fall right under todays high country brand. But this time more of a luxury sportier twist that has the capability to go off road. This model would be something close to a raptor fighter but not exactly.
-High Country would be the same idea as now, a mix of chrome and body colored with brown interior.

In addition to these new trim levels, GM could build on them, such as special editions with special packages. I really like for the Rally package to be brought to the next level and a new package such as the z71 limited.

If GM put some of the technology like i just said in some of the options in the truck with aluminum roof, tailboard, bumpers, and even all the sheet metal, it should result in a more fuel efficient truck beating ford or rams eco-diesel anyday. Regards to the 4.5 duramax put this one one and it blow away the fuel economy numbers from its competitors away .
Regards to the ZR2 raptor fighter, we can just hope there is one comes in the future, but still and all they should put the Colorado ZR2 into production, The Z71 Limited might please a lot of buyers if they goes and puts the right things in it like I just menchined about it. Again this is just my 2 cents worth but I really do think this is the way to go for a great pick up that everyone can like and be pleased with.

So the big question is would YOU buy one of these new Silverado's with these new ideas I just machined above in them and with the new box choice's and new option's and standard features ? and what is your thoughts on this ''Revoluntionary Enhancement''

It's interesting that you think GM should spend a billion dollars or so and probably only add a few 10,000 sales...def won't go bankrupt with returns like that.
Well most of the technology is already in Cadillac vehicles, a redesign isn't really necessary yet but some these ideas could be useful now! like rear HVAC for sure!
I'm sure GM will read your post and incorporate everything you have suggested.
This isn't meant to be mean, but is English your first language?

Oh yes, and budgeting is his middle name!!
How many more of these articles will we be getting?
Well, I don't know much about pickups, but the OP has seems to have a fair amount of thought it this. Perhaps start with the explanation first, and then put the wall-of-text option lists at the bottom of the post.

I hope they do as well....

Just took your word and changed it.
I thought the whole point of a basic pickup was to get a standard 4' x 8' load bed ?

Well actually 3 inches isn't such a loss. The cab would have 3 more inches of room behind the seats. So really the box is only going to be 3 inches shorter, So the bed be 7'7''

It's a gigantic loss of you're trying to get an 8' object in - it means you need to buy/hire a bigger truck!

If you need a bigger cab, extend the wheelbase.
There are 12 inches in a foot. So a three inch cut from eight feet is 7' 9", not 7' 7".

Sorry, My mistake I got the numbers tangled up.

Well first off I made a mistake saying that. By adding 3 more inches or cab space and deleting 3 inches of the box, It would create a 7.9ft box. Regards to extending the wheelbase, It simply wouldn't benefit the buyers because the truck be longer and more difficult to get around in city's and they have a larger turning radius. This is one set back from the new crew cab standard box....Unless GM develops a smaller turning radius.
I just thought it was a fundamental requirement for standard US pickups to carry an 8' x 4' sheets of building materials.

Well in that case the wheelbase have to be a little longer to still give box 8ft and still have a slightly larger cab. In this case the 7.9ft box have to be kept to the origional 8ft one.

It looks like we might have to get used to it. He's starting a new thread with his ideas more often than anyone else.

I just thought it was a fundamental requirement for standard US pickups to carry an 8' x 4' sheets of building materials.
If it was, I wouldn't have a 6.5' bed on my truck.
