Interesting. It appears to be an entirely different concept than today's Acadia.

It's shorter lengthwise, taller vertically, and is blockier than the current car.
Well I do remember hearing the next-gen CUVs were downsizing.

Correct. But this thing looks like it's going to usher in an entirely new formula.

It looks more like a Ford Explorer rival than a, um, Toyota Sienna rival, sans sliding doors. I dig it so far.
Looks like an overgrown Terrain to me.

To be honest, the first thing I thought of when I saw the rear doors curve up in the pictures is this:

Hopefully it isn't as bone-crushingly ugly as that, though.

Plot twist: This is a 2nd gen Envoy. ;)

We can dream right? :lmao:

Very interesting. If you compare the profile view, the XT5 has a more sloping roof than the Acadia. Are we sure this isn't based on the Australian Trailblazer?

I'm definitely getting a Grand Cherokee vibe here.

Side mirrors are definitely different

I just PM'd Envoy4Life about this. The wheel gaps in the wheelwells look like GM pulled the suspension right out my Envoy...
A couple of other thoughts....
1) Does anybody else find it odd that the sensors are only on the Rear wheels? If it was AWD, I would think they would be on all the wheels, and only on the fronts if FWD.
2)

anybody notice the air box is on the passenger side, just like the Colorado?

Could this be a rebodied global TrailBlazer?

Agreed. Anybody remember when they were talking about a unique vehicle for GMC.... This could be it.

Edit: I see an independent rear suspension. The Colorado 7 does not have one
About as clearly focused as muddy water...

I like the proportions. More SUV like than minivan, the Acadia has always been my favorite of the three.
PLEASE tell me this is based on the global TrailBlazer platform! I will be the happiest person alive if that is the case. And buy one. Maybe two...

I think it could be. interesting thing is that the hood appears longer and lower than the Global Trailblazer

They look similar to the ones on the current Lambdas (minus Enclave).

We know its on the same platform as the XT5 and will be bullt in Spring Hill, so will be smaller than the current Acadia and the new Enclave and Traverse.

So it's no longer going to look like an Giant egg?

I don't think it's going to be FWD to begin with.

I really don't think this is the Acadia. It's something else...
