2016 Suburban/Tahoe drive train options?

So I am in the market for a new Tahoe/Suburban I haven't decided which yet, and I have been investigating the 2015 models. I have driven the LTZ and LT tahoe, and since the dealer didn't have a 2015 suburban available, I went next door and drove the YukonXL SLT and the Denali.

I am hooked on the magnetic ride control, and for trailering I am told that you can only get air control management (ride leveling with a heavy trailer) with the MRC only. After studying many reports it seems like the 8 speed automatic will be phased in on the 2015 .5 models, which I would think would be anytime now?

Also I really liked the power and torque of the 6.2 in the Denali, and I am aware this is an option on the Chevrolet truck side. I am wondering is there any chance of this becoming an option for the LTZ Suburban/Tahoe? Seems like the Ford expedition has more tor and HP right now vs. the 5.3

I am patient and will probably wait now until summer and try to get the 2016 model, but I am hoping both the 8 speed and 6.2 become available on the LTZ package.

Any insight is greatly appreciated, thanks

While I don't think GM has made any announcement, I don't believe it is expected that the 6.2L will become available on the Suburban or Tahoe for 2016. On the SUVs, the 6.2L is exclusive to the Denali (which is more luxurious than any Tahoe/Suburban trim levels) and Escalade.
Are you a Chevy guy or would you not mind buying a GMC?
They brought it over to the Tahoe for the GMT-900 in 2009. So I'd expect they would on the K2's too. If not for '16, expect it for '17.

I was going to mention that, actually. But I am guessing since they only offered it for one model year it didn't sell that well and they may not have interested in doing it again.
I would expect the 8 speed to start proliferating rather quickly once they can ramp up production of it.

I could do a GMC but the cost for a "Denali" with all the frills isn't worth the price tag for me. The additional cost of the 6.2L for the Suburban or Tahoe I could do, and from what I have read thus far they are only putting the 8 speed behind the 6.2L.

I think the point about it not selling well, may not be due to just the motor. If everyone knew a new one was coming out they may have held off buying a tahoe/suburban for the '14 model year.

MRC, 6.2L, 8 speed, With 4WD, and the heavy duty tow package with Air control and I am all in. CHEVROLET should be able to offer all of this in the LTZ. Its all available in the Chevy trucks..... Come on Chevy!!!
