With stellar North American sales for 2014, Buick is poised to announce the big one - a new flagship Riviera (both sedan and coupe). With all the talk of a 'product offensive' by GM, surely GM enthusiasts can expect to see a Riviera with a real engine, namely a small V-8 option, on Buick's long awaited flagship announcement.

Luxury buyers are ready in the wings for an American luxury car with curves of a romantic and flowing Riviera nameplate with GM V-8 prestige, the great GM feeling, ride, and comfort.

Weary of watching others outside GM build luxury cars with comfort, ride and engine choices, only to see a shortage of American branded choices in a market hungry for luxury cars? Welcome home to Buick.

More flowing rear and for the sedan like the 95-99 Olds Aurora 4.0 or its copy called the Mercedes CLS sedan. Can you see the sedan and coupe possibilities from this photo? The coupe could be as the concept.

By the way, the 1st through 6th generation Riviera, 2nd generation Regal, and Electra offered V-8 engines, the Aurora 4.0 followed suit.

Exactly. Sounds like someone's wet dream, not a fact based report.
Yeah I noticed the no link thing and kind of rolled my eyes. Wet dream Indeed lol. Still at least we know the new LaCrosse is going to be a looker. Once BUICK adds a few more models sales will keep climbing. Someone has an Encore at work and it's really a chunky good looking vehicle. Quite premium looking.

2016 Riviera hints: Detroit Free Press reports that "Buick" is among five automotive brands overhauling its displays used to "show off their cars" for the 2015 NAIS. The 2015 NAIAS with reveal 40 never before seen cars and trucks.

Now who thinks that GM is spending big money to overhaul Buick displays simply to show a new color on the Lacrosse or styling tweak to the Verano and Encore?? It has to be the Big One: 2016 Buick Riviera. Recall GM recently re-registered the trademark for Buick Riviera.

2016 Riviera rumored again in October 2014:

Wow from that scant info you came to that conclusion and thought it worthy of a thread?

I've seen said Buick & it's awesome!
I do believe it will debut at the NAIAS, but not yet confirmed
Yes, go ahead please tells us what you have seen . . .

The GM designer of the new CTS and the new CTS-V, created this romantic and flowing version for Opel and Buick:

The flagship front styling on the concept looks like a perfect fit for a Buick Riviera sedan and coupe, cousin to the new CTS sedan and coupe? And the LS V-8 fits too.

It seems the designer of both looks did have a press conference:

No reason to burn the guy at the stake. He like many other poor Buick fans are just clamoring for something more than what Buick offers.
So unfortunately any wild off based rumor becomes a fact to them; which leads to meaningless unsubstantiated threads like these of hopes that mediocre brand will have some kind of major resurgence and excite us all.

I too hope that Buick would give its consumers and fanboys something slightly more appealing, but alas, like them I'm still waiting and any interest in an offering that may whet my appetite I have, but that appetite along with my patience is waning .

Boy, you are stretching now lol. I want the car as described but as BlackGTP said the likelihood of it being at Detroit is tenuous at best! I could imagine something being shown at Chicago or NY but not Detroit.

I'm not at liberty to discuss what I've been shown, but you'll see in January

But I can tell you Mr. Adams had no involvement with the car you are referring to

We're not burning him at the stake, I'm as much of a Buick fan as he is but when threads like this pop up acting as if there's some substantiated claim to a new Riviera or whatnot, the disappointment in finding out there absolutely no factual basis in the tread is even worse.
