Hi, first time poster, occasional visitor. I've checked out some of the forums suggesting wait times for GM trucks can get a bit long to say the least. I'll get to the point. I ordered a 2015 Sierra 1500 SLT, White Diamond Tri-coat, 6.2, sunroof, NHT towing package, etc. , etc. Now the kicker, I placed the order in the 3rd week of Sept. 2014, was told originally that delivery would be last week of Nov., 1st week of Dec., then Jan. of 2015. Talked to my dealer today, he's telling me end of Feb. or early March before its even on the build line !! I was wondering if any one out there may be experiencing the same type of delays? I've tried the GM Livechat......may as well have been talking to the janitor at the factory. Non-productive to say the least! They suggested I contact my dealer to find out what the delay was. I'm in Alberta, and have been constantly checking the dealerships across the province to see if any 6.2's with NHT towing package have hit the lots, but have only seen a couple of SLT's with the 6.2, no NHT package.......Maybe I'm just too anxious, but I'd kinda like to get it during the current model year. Any one with similar experience out there that could shed some light , would be appreciated....Thanks!

It's PAINFULLY obvious to me that GM doesn't give a rat's a$$ about selling L86 and NHT-optioned pickups.
If it's a rear axle supplier (American Axle Manufacturing) fault - kick 'em in the a$$!

Ram and Ford will build their top-tier powertrains in practically any body style or trim level the buyer desires. Hello, GM! What gives?

What a crying damned shame!

I ordered an L86/NHT in November and I'm also now being told maybe March for when GM will even build it instead of January. Who knows when it will actually arrive at the dealer. I really hope we find out what the reason for the L86/NHT build delay it. At this rate all the advertising GM is doing about being able to pull up to 12000 lbs is almost false advertising at this point.

That's insane.

Is it any wonder why so many pickup buyers defect to Ford and Ram? Ford and FCA actually build the top-tier trucks like a lot of folks want to buy - what a novel idea!!!

Again, it's "supplier contraints" for rear axles and 6.2 engines. An absurd problem to have!

I wanted a standard box and NHT when I bought early last year, but it was on constraint then. I didn't feel like waiting for 6 months so I took the short box on the lot. I don't tow more than 6k with this truck anyway, so it's not a huge deal for me.

i ordered my sierra slt fully loaded last year the first week march and got it the last week of april, the told me that it would take 14-16 weeks, acturally it was 7. Kind of strange why this order was so quick, i wasn't expecting it so early
6.2?

I've also been trying to get a 6.2 with NHT ordered since early November but the dealer hasn't been able to get the order accepted yet. So now I guess I'll continue to wait until March at least before the order is placed then wait 9-11 weeks for delivery. I wish we knew what the real reason for the delay is, I don't want to buy a truck that has some type of development/quality issue. I agree, the ad campaign can't mention 12,000 pound towing capacity enough be you can't get that capability because they won't build it so it is like false advertising. I'm a lifelong GM guy but it looks like they want me to look elsewhere for a truck.

Yes, the 6.2 with NHT have not been orderable until this month. your dealer should have communicated that to you, it was published to us all along. it has not even been a valid configuration since the ordering system will bounce the order with a message saying it cannot be ordered until March. Well the orders started taking 2 weeks ago, so now the only set back will be constraint allocation. Both the 6.2 and the NHT option are on heavy volume constraint, so I would Reccomend ordering from the largest dealer in the area.

It's quite simply beyond stupid to not build the pickups that people want to buy. I just don't get it . . .
