Hi all, new to the forum. Looking for some help or advise on my new truck. I have a 15' dbl cab 4x4 sierra 2500 duramax. Its silver and was built in 3/14 out of the ft wayne indiana plant. The paint started peeling off the bed 2 weeks after I bought it. They (dealer) painted it and now 2 months later its peeling off all 4 doors and the same spot they fixed. They want to paint the truck again but Im at a loss here trying to figure out why I have not been offered a buy back or some sort of discount on trading it off. Who wants a new diesel rig with 2,3, or 4 paint repairs? I feel like my trucks been de-valued in this ordeal and Im the only one who cares. This is extremely frustrating. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or help.

You did not list your state (if you live in the USA). Research your state's lemon law. Look for an attorney that specializes in your state's lemon law.

GM and the dealer will do nothing to help you until you retain an attorney. I have been through a GM buy-back and GM ONLY listens to an attorney - they will give you lip service and offer some minor free service until you retain an attorney.

I guess thats the issue. Whatever was happening to the paint prep was going on in the first few months of the year. I read somewhere online that the problem has been fixed on the line.....Not sure what to do here. I've been a loyal gm customer for 15 years. This is my 3rd new heavy duty truck. I can say the other two gave me no problems at all. I put a little over 100k miles on them and traded up. All duramax/allison 3/4 or 1 ton trucks. I dont feel like I'm asking for a lot, I just want GM to own the problem and take care of the issue. Dont want to give me a better deal on a trade or a cash voucher to get me out of this one, then how about swapping body panels? There HAS to be a better way of getting through this then "your on your own, we real sorry and all, but good luck" I guess they can send all the customer surveys they want. If you dont take care of your customers, it doesnt take a 5 page survey to figure out why they changed brands! The first attempt to fix the bed was full of fish eyes and dust. There was overspray on the tailgate, roof, and adjacent door. I had to take it in twice to get the repair completed and buffed back out. Im STILL not happy with the make shift repair. No booth, No oven, No robots painting at the dealerships. How is that the same? C'mon GM, work with me...
I'm not sure what you want - complaining on this forum will NOT get GM to handle the problem correctly.

Research your state's lemon law - and speak with an attorney. You will only be satisfied with a replacement truck - which will not happen unless you retain an attorney and pursue a buyback / replacement vehicle.
