Well we already know the Outlook is going away, will this take the place of the Enclave??

Not a shock here. I am sure it will be all new sheet metal to capture the Art and Science theme of Cadillac.

What will it do to Enclave is the question? Enclave will have four years to develop a customer base before this version bows.

Also, this will be second generation lambda with two-mode hybrid available I am sure.

Someone clue me in - with the new SRX and Escalade on Theta and Lambda - what is the difference between Buick and Cadillac again?

SRX should have been on Lambda (maybe) - but Escalade should not.

The Escalade is probably the only T900 truck that probably needs to be on a car based chassis.

I would have prefered to see it on a high performance RWD chassis...pretty much to make a Mercedes G Class but better.

Please not a Traverse with a Cadillac badge...please not a Traverse with a Cadillac badge...
No one really had a problem with a Tahoe with a Cadillac badge....

Saturn Outlook eliminated becomes Cadillac Escalade
Saturn Aura eliminated becomes Buick Skylark
Saturn Astra eliminated becomes Chevy Bel Air
Saturn Vue eliminated becomes Buick Rendezvous
Saturn Sky eliminated becomes Buick Bengal

There, I've solved some GM problems.

What a great idea! Take a vehicle that sells great, and completely change it into something completely different! That's sure to make all of your loyal customers happy. LOL! Everybody knows that all those rich people buying $60,000+ cars think that Fuel economy is the most thing for a luxury vehicle to have. (end of sarcasm)

GM up to its same old bag of tricks!

I think if this actually comes to fruitition, the Cadillac Lambda will be AWD, not FWD (that way they can demand premium pricing), and with the Outlook disappearing by 2012, this 'Esca-maybe' will be fine. Considering how the Cadillac is used - don't see them around Moab or Death Valley, do ya? - AWD/unibody will be fine. The Escalade is nothing more than a very large sedan for 99% of the owners, so putting it on the Lambda platform won't matter.

I would like to see sales numbers for Escalade this summer before I say this move is stupid. $4.00 plus a gallon must hurt even Escalade Sales. If sales for June July and August are way down will you still say this is a stupid move?

Yea soon you will hear lutz that Americans want cts to be based on malibu and that this move will save so much money. Well we already know that next generation sts will be based on zeta. So caddy will be another rebadge devision from GM. keep up good work rick and lutz and then you will be asking question why nobody wants to buy caddy
So why did you re-register to come back to this site again? Do you anything positive to say about GM, ever? If your only advice for GM is to go out of business, just go to TTAC.

He reregistered because his main account is level 1 which locks him out of posting in the news story threads. So he got around it by creating another account.

FWD based AWD is not worth the kind of money they're asking for an Escalade.

The current Escalade ranks right with the Navigator and Excursion as the most oversized, overrated, needlessly gargantuan trucks ever created for consumers. Now that the oversized SUV craze seems to be thankfully comming to a close, it's about time the 'Slade gets downsized and redevelped as a more civilized vehicle.

There is absolutely no need, not even for millionaire athletes and rappers, to have these kinds of land yacts in production. They are ugly, obese, hog the road, and suck gas worse than any car from the 1960's.

If GM puts it on the Lambda platform, I think it's a very good move, and I hope they do it.
