Vids shows GM is prepping a few Camaros for SEMA!

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8101

Some of it looks over the top but hopefully there'll be some nicely modded ones too. :dro: SEMA is supposed to be the first week of November sometime. Hopefully GM will use it to showoff some of its performance parts and accessories for the Camaro.

UPDATE: REAL LIFE PHOTOS FROM SEMA:

Camaro LS7 Concept
Dale Earnhardt Jr. Concept Camaro
Camaro BLACK Concept
Camaro GS Racer Concept

61BelAir, the show doesn't start until Tuesday, the 4th. I will be there the 5-7th to see them in person. I hope there are still Hot Wheels to be had! Actually, I just hope there's a decent turnout this year, a lot of companies are cutting back big time or just not going.

I forgot Monday was still set up, thanks for the clarification! With the exception of last year, i've gone every year for the past 12 years. All the major companies will be there, you just won't see some of the smaller mom and pop companies. If I don't forget my Camera, I will post some pics.

You will be surprised by some of the major companies NOT being there. For example American Racing Wheels , MHT Wheels, Michelin Tires, etc.......and many more . However, it will still be awesome as usual. This will be 20 straight years for me.
With the Camaro being the official car of the show.....we can expect to see every example of bad taste known to mankind. As well as some very cool stuff. I love SEMA and always look forward to it.

Haha, you mean an Embassy Suites near LAX isn't the same as Vegas? Yes, there's no comparison, but it looks like that's the only way I'm going to get face-to-face time with some of the companies not going to SEMA.
lol...yeah...i worked MPMC one time about 5 years ago and it was okay, but its definitely not vegas. Do you work in the automotive aftermarket?

Some people have the greatest jobs...

Welburn's designs are so excellent. Rarely do they need modifications to look better, though some of the additions are quite sweet.

And I'm sure the Camaro faithful will appreciate the in- and out-of-house performance modifications. Again, not that GM engineers haven't done their part already to make the Camaro superlative in its class.

I'm just looking forward to seeing GM use these models to showcase the OEM performance upgrades available for the car, like shorty headers and other engine mods.

Add Magnaflow, and rumor has it Holley won't be there either. I checked the floorplan and they're not in their usual spot. It looks like MPMC will be even more important this year.
I heard that Holley is a no show, which means no Weiand, Hooker Headers, Earl's, Lunati........

I work in the media, but a lot of my content is driven by the aftermarket: superchargers, suspensions, paint & body, electronics. . .

Lunati is independent now. Holley sold them last year. I wonder if Edelbrock will pick up some of Holley's slack this year. They've got a lot of cool products planned for '09.

On a loosely related note, I'd be interested to know how the 320HP 5.3L V8 would stack up against the 261HP 3.6L DI DOHC V6 in the Camaro. Everything (transmissions, gearing, tires, etc.) else being equal, would the V8 with its displacement on demand be cheaper to build, more fuel efficient, and stronger than the DI V6? It would at least make for a nice plant in the RS model.
