My Mom bought a new Mariner VOGA and since they are so unusual, I thought I'd share some of my photos here.

Fabulous car, and I use the word fabulous on purpose...it's so girly! :) It is a great sled, I'm amazed by what they did with this car, I wasn't expecting such a beautiful high-tech beast from a car that is suppose to be "ancient". The new D30 with 6/spd is almost as smooth and powerful as the D35, I'm amazed! The Audio system is BRILLIANT, and it's the standard unit in all Escapes/Mainers. Sync, Nav....all work better than my 2007 MKX :( God I wish I had SYNC! I still wouldn't trade my MKX for anything (other than an MKS).

Enjoy!

Tell your mom congratulations.....I'm sure she'll enjoy it. They are so much better looking on the outside than an Escape!

Amazingly, my neighbor has Ford Escape Limited with the Chrome package which carries the same wheels, chrome treatment, and piano black interior trim. Essentially, the VOGA looks even more like the Escape than the regular Mariner with the satin aluminium trim inside and out. The Voga also looses the two tone dash, but the contrasting colors are much more extreme. The car really is absolutely beautiful to sit in, the materials, textures, colors, and lighting make the car really mod!

Borg: At first I thought the car was foreign. I have have a Mariner hybrid on order, and never hear of the VOGA. The pictures are nice, mine will have two-toned leather seating and SYNC.

Hope she loves it, I can't wait to get mine.

Congrats

that is exactly the car I just drove for Autosavant - it has a very positive review coming up shortly - the interior is banging - everyone that saw it could not believe it was in something as homely as a Mariner .. it makes the car stand out extremely well.

Does she have the I4 FWD setup? That is what I drove - it was suprisingly nice, and we averaged around 24mpg - 20 when we pushed it.

This was the V6 AWD Voga, stickered just shy of $33,000.

I didn't know VOGA was available with the I4 model, interesting!

The revised V6 w/6 Spd is fantastic! Moves much faster than my heavy MKX.

And yes, the mod interior belies the homely looking SUV exterior.

Ford did well with that vehicle, I think it's the best looking small suv on the market. I thought the VOGA option was a waste of money, but I was wrong.

This is an excellent looking product. Ford has taken the Mariner and Escape seriously; giving it the needed powertrain improvements and the new navigation system for 2009. It is quite a compelling package now.

Don't forget excellent fuel economy, even the V6 4WD gets 24 MPG highway.

Sadly I would have to say yes, the Vue is very nice but overall the Mariner owns it. I have been thinking, do you think with age that VOGA interior won't hold up well? Since it has a lot of white.
it is definitely less child friendly, and the whole 2nd row is vinyl, not leather, but it is a "luxury package" - if you have 2 kids spilling milk, and a muddy dog, you will probably (hopefully) pick a dark cloth interior.

I cannot remember whether it was the leather or the vynil part, but dirt such as shoe smudges did show up easily.

BTW it is not white it is very light creme - slight difference, but difference nonetheless.
