yup they are both made in Poland in the same factory. Ideal solution for those who want Fiat 500 in America would be if Ford sold KA in the U.S.

Yep. Ideal solution and excellent envirnment and opportunity for Ford (and Fait) to clean up in an underserved but emerging market!

but knowing GM infinate stupidity (never intending to offer the Beat here - instead offering a BIGGER version in 2012 or some such bullcrap) and fords narrow mindedness........I know the Ka will never be offered here and the forgein makers will once again offer the only choices in the emerging microcar segment here in the States.

namely Toyota will have the wisdom to off their IQ here by next year.

my prediction.

domestics will refuse to offer any microcars here even though the Ka probably now meets US regs and would save Ford , yet at least Toyota will.

Fiat may - but their markup will be outragous and prpbably sold through Alpha dealers.

after GM fooked up with the Beat I have no faith in the domestics at all

The 500 platform from Fiat is solid, but id have to say i like the looks of the GM Corsa alot better. Ford barely brought over the Fiesta for us in 2010, i highly doubt we'd ever see that before gas hits $5 a gallon.
