Bay seems to have some sort of in at GM, first the Buick Blackhawk in Bad Boys 2, (not to mention the tons of other GM cars in that movie, including Yukon Denalis, CTS's, he even makes a cameo as a "loser" driving a Geo Metro XFi), the Cien in The Island and now the new Camaro in Transformers, is he Bob Lutz nephew or just a GM fan?

That interior looks interesting, there are keys hanging from the ignition, so it looks like this is an actuall driveable car, not some sort of mock up, it looks like GTO gauges were made to fit the pod, it still has the console gauges like in the show car, and Solstice/H3/SKY a/c controls, but where would the radio go?

i think i need to pick up my jaw off the desk...*drools*

Omg...What a b*tchn Camaro. I want one so bad. It looks even better in those colors. I agree with everyone saying bumble bee should remain a VW. A good match would've been Hot Rod or Sun Streeker (the yellow Lotus Espirit). That was the cool thing about bumble bee. He was the smallest guy but could take on the big guys. As for Megatron a tank, that's fine because the later shows and toys have him as a tank. I liked the other Dec. tank that changed into 3 things (can't remember his name). Is Star Scream and his group of planes going to still be F-15's? Or maybe the new F-22's. I do hope they use the original voices at least for him. Can't wait to see the movie and buy the Camaro.

Awesome stuff! Did anyone notice that the rear license plate in the Camaro said "SALEEN?" I wonder what's up with that?

It's sweet to see the Camaro in different colors. The 2nd gen one on the back of the rollback sure looked like a POS...primer spots and all!

Talk about a great way to sell a new toy line, too! Wow...

I stopped reading on pg two of this, so I donno if anyone noticed, but I was looking at Movie pic's, and on the back of that yellow Camaro, there is a SALEEN plate on it?? WTF go look on the movie website, and movie pics, and you'll see it!

dude your a joke
thanks for the really insightful argument. you could at least spell it properly.

Though I was a huge transformers fan when I was a kid and collected tons of them (Mom through 'em away when I grew out of them), I think this COULD be a fairly decent "cult" movie. Yeah, it's a little geeky and cheezy but it sounds like they're gonna have some pretty cool vehicles.

I guess I'm too much of a purist, I would rather Bumblebee remain a goofy little Beetle, even though that gold Camaro is pretty nice. Judging by the preliminary script reviews and proposed characters there were a lot of decisions that I probably wouldn't have made. I particularly disagree with making Megatron a tank, especially if it's to appease the PC crowd.

One major problem I have with making a live action movie and the cartoons is how they will resolve the issue of scale. How does a boom box transform into a robot of equal size to one that changes from a tank.

I'm just getting too far into this....I'll wait for the DVD.

Just a few points of interest since I am a TF geek...
- Huffer was one of the other original semi's in the show. He was very small but really strong. He sometimes took over hauling Prime's trailer.

- I remember reading a while back that VW did not want to have their brand associated with violent action figures. That is why in their current "Alternators" lineup, you dont see any VW products even though a Bumblebee character would be a no brainer. I wouldn't expect to see any VW products related to Transformers anymore.

- Bumblebee didn't die in the original movie. He got eaten by Unicron along with Spike and the moonbase they were on after they tried blowing him up. They were both rescued by Daniel later in the movie prior to getting dumped in a melting pit.

Yeah, I noticed it - I mentioned it in the post immediately above yours! :) It's cool though, because you said that you stopped reading on page 2.

Probably doesn't mean anything - Saleen is VERY MUCH tied to Ford, so I would be extremely surprised if Saleen would start customizing Camaros or other GM products.

That's definitely a shell. There are no calipers, and that's not a real door handle. Nonetheless, that's an awesome color. Is that bronze or yellow in poor lighting?

I too was a fan of the original cartoon. I hope they use the old cartoon transformation noise, that was the greatest.
