First of all, the SS model has been renamed LT...we'll still offer the Supercharged SS.............

Second....this is initial order stuff.........don't assume that stuff won't be added during the year.

Three......while I don't like the door cylinders being pulled out of the passenger side, go look at the number of highline imports that did it long before GM did it. I sat in meetings and fought this.......but was shown the number of imports and domestics that had removed them ....some of them 4 and 5 years ago.

Hey....you either try to cut some costs and expenses......or you raise the prices.........

How can GM not update the interiors for the truck and SUV line. The same old tired dash board again. Look at Ford and Chrysler. They are superior in every way now. Sad they do not do this. Must mean '06 is entire new line.

What's the big deal about the interior components? I was in a rental Ford Explorer one time and it had some cheap looking (silver) carbon fiber looking thing on it's instrument panel, it was hideous!

My aunt's Lexus' woodgrain looks the same as my Malibu's....
My cousin's Altima has that silvr overlay on her panel, doesn't look all that awe-inspiring to me...

So you can't use the key to open the passenger door or trunk? This means you have to use the inside lock switch and trunk release right? Guess I'm not up on my imports, because I thought everybody had keylocks on the both front doors.

I've got to say, this is the kind of minutia that keeps me coming back to GMI. Good get.

this is taken directly from GM canada's website regarding the 2004 impala:

All models come with dual-stage driver and front passenger frontal air bags and offer available seat-mounted side-impact air bags.

Actually in 03 they did away with the passenger door key hole on the monte carlos and in 04 the did away with the quarter panel side scripts "Monte Carlo" to scrimp and save money. Now its the trunk key hole and body side moldings for 05. Luckily 06 is coming up for re-design because they are running out of items to delete...lol

Actually Chevrolet has given away a lot more than locks. Some items are small, some are not. I have both a ’02 and ’03 Impala LS. Just between those two years GM cut the coin holder but left the attachment bracket inside the armrest ($30 if you buy it), the chrome lettering off the 3800 engine cover, passenger door lock and the shift indicator on the center console. That’s just what you can see. From ’03 to ’04 they have also cut the strut tower brace from under the hood. Now I know they want to make more money, but dropping something that adds to the stiffness of the body is really cheap. The good news is that most dealers have caught on and will gladly sell you the kit to add it back. I like the cars, but like the rest of you I wonder what they’ll (Chevrolet) give away next. I say the doors will go. Maybe the spare tire? After all it is extra…

That's a Toyota Honda strategy. Offer a low priced version of the car, and make everything that makes the car nice optional.

The Koreans & Suzuki can afford to offer a lot more, standard.

haha, that reminds me...I think in 03 on the Monte Carlo you would have to order the "smokers package" to get the ashtray and cigarette lighter.

Thats good! That ugly knob on the top of most GM vehicles got annoying!

Integrated into one antenna or integrated into the vehicle? I am all for putting the antenna into the rear window (think window defogger) or a small, cellular phone looking antenna. If they combine it into that XM receiver, that is just plain fugly.

Any word yet about on sale dates? Figure late August, early September? Saw that 2005 models were included in GM's newest rebate program, but wanted to see if anybody has heard anything.
