Nice to see the Malibu is getting the side airbags! I heard that there is also a slight styling refresh. Is this true?

Maybe they're just making the Supercharged SS into the SS for less confusion?

Sounds good to me... 200 hp NA 3800 is hardly SS material.
Ahh, if only they did that for the Cobalt. I was expecting the supercharged Cobalt to be called SS, not SS Supercharged.

I hear ya... it should be LS LT and SS like every other chevy... none of this SS/SS Supercharged crap <_<

I think the Monte lineup is now LS, LT (formerly normally aspirated SS), and SS (formerly supercharged SS). Nonetheless, I'm going to wait and see if there is a rwd Sigma or Zeta based Monte Carlo in the future (2006 or 2007 I'm guessing).

As much as I like the Impala, I think it is in need of a serious refresh (similiar to the Grand Prix, LaCrosse) espicially in it's interior. I can't understand why Chevy only offers a drivers side airbag in the Impala and not one for the passenger side. This option selection has been the same since the 2000 model year. For 2005, the Malibu will offer dual front side airbags as well as side curtain airbags. I know that Impala sales are good but Chevy should invest some money into it's flagship car line.

Well, it looks like nothing happens until 2006 when, hopefully, the Monte gets a v-8 (?).
I have seen more Montes in the comp yellow than silver. I thought that the yellow would have stayed.
Maybe the management really looked at the Dale Jr (red with black stripes) specialty package. I agree with the other threads; it doesn't look good at all with those stripes.

There are silvers and then there are silvers. On various car models, you'll see silvers that always look tired as if dirty while there are other paints that really flash. The Monte's silver looks a little dull for the car.

I guess that only some small changes in 2005 are expected if the car gets some major changes in 2006. If it does get some major changes in 2006 as the magazines have been hinting.

They deleted the Decklid Lock Cylinder on the Monte Carlo..lol, another move by GM to save money. In 03 they deleted the passenger door lock cylinder and in 04 they deleted the "monte carlo" scripts on the lower rear quarter panels. I wonder what they will delete for 06, the "Crest" maybe?

No more SS Monte Carlo, or 240HP in the Malibu?? What'swrong with this picture??
240hp Malibu?

What I would like to see is a 5 spd or 6spd in the Malibu Maxx. Id like to see more power, but if there was gunna be a Malibu Maxx SS, Id like to see the 3.9 3v VVT model that might make its way into the GXP G6.

And the Impy is getting a redesign I belive as did all W bodies. The MC is on its way out, or at least that what is seems.

Typical underachieving Chevy. They had the chance to put in the 240hp 3.9 in the malibu but no all we get are curtain airbags! The Monte Carlo looses it's decklid lock cylinder and bodyside door protection molding. As stated above the passenger side lock also went south in 03. Bet ya the price goes up though. Probably 10 times like it did for 04. Ludicrous! Whats next, deletion of the door handles?

Probably in a couple of years since keyless entry is becoming popular in the market. OH! You were being sarcastic! LOL Sorry, not trying to be mean. It's just too funny not to say.

I second the motion.
The Impala should be given a better choice of interior colors. The ebony would be a natural for the Impala SS.
I saw a black, 2004 monte Carlo SS with darkened windows. It was one nice looking ride. The same would go for the Impala.

Just because the 3.9 V6 has had a press release or two, doesn't mean it's production ready. Early G6 literature doesn't list it either, but it's going to be there eventually.

I also noticed another sneaky 04 deletion on the Impala. When you order the blue interior you now get a un-finished black steering wheel and column. It sticks out like a sore thumb and looks terrible! And just when I thought about getting my Impala with a blue interior! NOT
