Hey that looks like a brushed alum. version of the Malibus radio. Looks like maybe GM is starting to update the bland radios. Maybe they will also look at GMI and see the forum about GM's bland radios and and continue to make improvements.
EDIT
Ok sometimes I type... then think. Just the same as when I speak. This one should be more logical.

Since that topic only came up 3 days ago, I really don't think GM was influenced by this site (as much as I'd like to think they check here regularly).

Does anyone understand the logic to this choice? Why not put the "new" 3.5L OHV engine in the car. 200 HP sounds so much better thant 185 HP. There must be some reason for the choice, I just have not heard it.

Cost and placement. since G.M. wants to place this up against the compact segment, the cost of the china 3.4 will help. and at 185 hp with a 5 speed auto its the best base powertrain in the segment.

the thing is gonna be a hit it's gonna take sales from both segments.

eventually i expect the 3.2 hfv6 from st catherines to be the engine. (just a guesse) in the meantime the 3.4 i think is okay.

That radio looks awful familiar....Chevy must be setting a new "RADIO Family"
trend. First the Malibu, Now Equinox.

Wow I though most auto journalists were bad for nagging on and on about GM interiors, you guys even bitch about 2 new vehicles sharing radios. :p

The point is this thing has nice wheels and a good looking stereo and more power than a Rav4, and it will enter a market in which chevy only has the tracker (if they still make it). I like the design of the Equinox and I like the name and I think it will sell great as the Trailblazers younger sibling.

I have a problem with the Equinox. I like EVERTHING about it........except.

I realize the Vue will have the Honda motor and while I would rather have an Equinox, that 3400 doesn't hold a candle to the 3.5 the Vue is getting. This is pretty $hitty. Choose a V6 Vue with 250HP and about as much torque or the brand new 'Nox(hey that sounds kind cool) with a 3400 that barely made a G/A GT entertaining. W...T....F?!

But THIS 3.4L engine will be made cheaply in China. Surely that scores it points for something. :p

Hopefully CHEAP will be in cost only, and not assembly quality.

The 3.1/3.4 V6s have enough issues without adding cheapness to the mix.

I'm one of those people that still equates "Made In China" = crap.
