I have scoured the internet, after my transfer case developed a hole....caused by a MANUFACTURE DEFECT. This pump rub problem is well known by all in the Duramax community....and even by GM. GM solution after talking to 2 different service dealerships....Replace the transfer case!!!

This by the way, is why GM loses customers.

By the way pickup has 110K miles.

This is bull crap GM!!

A very common issue I see in my shop all the time, the transfer case does not have to be replaced. The after market makes aluminum rear case halves to replace the damaged one. You also need the after market retainer so this doesn't happen again.
