How long should it take a GM dealership to replace the recliner mechanism? I dropped off my truck yesterday at 7:00 am and they "hope" to have it done by noon today.

Depends on alot of things. If they're really busy with repairs that take a long time to fix, have some techs out sick/vacation/hooky, or you are just on the bottom of the list can affect repair times. Probably should've asked how long it would take when you dropped it off. Talk to your rep- that's what they're there for!!

THere is a retrofit handle to field fix those recliners...I sell them here rather than tear the seat all apart...which can be involved...

I can appreciate that. I'm more interested in what to expect for the billable time. They didn't give me a quote, because they said they didn't know how long it would take.

Sounds kinda fishy to me. GMC, is there anyway you could tell him how long a warranty repair gives for time as a guide?

Seat back recliners on most Sonomas are going to break off sooner or later. Something's up with them. I still need to buy the retrofit handle GMCSonoma showed me. I'll probably end up doing it over the summer when I actually have time to fix it.

if its just a lever than a few minutes, if the recliner mechanism needs replaced, then about 30-45 minutes
