that's impossible, it must be a toyota odometer
We had several of these in the family, a 2007 SS sedan , a 2009 sedan and 2, 2010 sedans , these were durable cars with proper maintenance , provided many trouble free miles of driving.that's impossible, it must be a toyota odometer
+1its just too bad GM never kept the name Cavalier alive for all of these compact efforts
I think it's because they build a car to a price point, it doesn't do as well as they thought it would so to erase the bad memories of, say, the Cavalier, they build another car to a price point and slap a different name on it, then they stand back and act surprised that it didn't take the world by storm. GM doesn't do small cars as well.+1
The inability to sustain brands and nameplates has unfortunately characterized GM for quite some time.
Interestingly, the Cavalier nameplate lives on in Mexico, where it is a rebadged GM-PATAC K platform Chevy Monza:

Yup, maintenance done with quality parts or brand names. I try to use AC Delco parts if it's affordable. I've done all necessary repairs or maintenance myself, including the timing chain and balance shaft chain.Wow. I'm impressed. It just goes to show I think. that with proper care even the underdogs can last a real long time.
The clear coat is peeling from the back bumper. The rest of the paint is good. But yeah, it's the original transaxle. I believe the reason the car has lasted so far this long is because it's almost all freeway milage. 45 miles commute one way which 40 of those miles is freeway non stop at 70 MPH on cruise control. Working the grave yard shift, the car doesn't get too much sunlight as it's parked in the garage during the day. So even during the hot southern California summers, I don't sit in traffic and the commute home is early in the mornings before the hot summer temps.Looks great for that many miles. If that is the original engine and transaxle that is super impressive!
We have a red 2008 in the family that looks just like the pic, and its still going strong, but the car has not lived a pampered life. The clear coat is peeling from the back bumper. I wash it like 5 times a year. Twice a year I'll clay bar and wax it. I'm surprised too how good it looks with the miles.Wow. That is still impressive and looks pretty darn good for all those miles as well.
Top tier gas helps. Although I will burn anything in my 3800 powered Pontiac. Meaning anything 87 octane. For the newer GMCs top tier since the manual calls for it. Heck I don’t think top tier gas was around the 3800 was made.I wash it like 5 times a year. Twice a year I'll clay bar and wax it. I'm surprised too how good it looks with the miles.
Original headlight assemblies, too. When they start to yellow, I'll polish them clear. Last maybe 6 months than I'll have to polish the lights again. Oh, and I don't know if this really makes a difference, but I think it does, I always use top tier gas. Usually Mobile.
Not sure when top tier came out either. But since you mentioned a 3800 Pontiac, thought I'd share mine. The Pontiac only get top tier gas, too.Top tier gas helps. I bought it last year in March. This is the color I wanted and just happen that someone had a good condition one for sale. So I drove about 150 miles to get it.Love the color.
Dang, that sucks.Had a 05 Cobalt that got destroyed by a drunk driver in 2012.
Had 275k on it.
Little battle wagon.
