this is such a kick in the face to the lexus snobs...even eagle-beaked acura LOL.

Now...riviera coupe orrrrrrrr....make a GSX version 2 door, less chrome/maybe black chrome? do something sexy and make it sporty!

Do not order them if you do not like them...They are options.

Actually, Buick is ahead of the curve, save a few really expensive cars, in integrating them into rear seats from the factory. Much nicer design than aftermarket options.
Yep, "ahead of the curve"... Holden Caprices in Oz in the old model, i.e. prior to the current Chinese Park Avenue version, had them in 2003! Not a "really expensive car" (though $72K back then wasn't especially cheap, except compared to a Merc or Bimmer!).

Amazing looking... 2 things I've always wished GM would concentrate more on have definitely been addressed: interior and the rear (they always spent alot of time on design of the front-end and side-views, but the rear always seems like an afterthought)

Since some people here are posting their own pics as well, I figure I might do so...

I live in Oshawa, near to where the founder of GM Canada lived. He also was responsible for the McLaughlin Buicks.

I took a pre-production LaCROSSE (when it was still badged as "Allure" up here, heh) to his house.

I think it looks at home...

Nice car, but does it REALLY stand out in the fwd mid size class enough to gain many sales over the outgoing Lacrosse? I'll give it a 30% advantange.
You're kidding, right?
It even stood out for my mom, whose knowledge of cars consists of "it drives nice".

For the price I rather pay a little more and get a CTS. Totally not worth it.
I agree with you, yesterday I dropped by to PBG dealership close to my office and I saw MRSP above 44 grand ($ Canadian) for CXL AWD and then CTS AWD with 3.0L engine in black too, CTS seemed like a better deal and better looking car. Somehow in person CTS wins over LaCrosse CXL dollar per dollar (at least here per Canadian prices), GM made Buick LaCrosse to penetrate deep into Lexus but also into Caddy territory.

GREAT shot. GM should pay you for this one!!

I thought I'd post this little thought after a long hiatus from this site....

This has to be one of GM's nicest looking vehicles - right up there with the CTS. My main gripe with the car are the gooseneck hinges, but if Honda and Toyota can still sell boatloads of cars with them, why should GM go through the expensice expense of struts for the trunk.

I'll be keeping my Aura for a while in the hope of plopping my derriere in a fully loaded Allure (I'm in Canada) a few years from now.

Not a fan of the rear seat DVD players. To me thats such a waste and on every car it looks like a tacky after thought. Is looking out the window at scenery not entertainment enough?
I've got your back on this argument ... Kids today will not be able to find their way down to the local mart because of DVD players and GPS units when they get to be of driving age.

It's today's culture of Tune In and Tune Out to everything around them.

Because I had the window to look out on all of our "Sunday Driving" trips as a kid, when I turned 16 I could be dropped off ANYWHERE in Western New York and be able to find my way home.

It is LaCrosse in Canada too, I have seen the name with my own eyes. I like the car but have the same gripes about trunk hindges and base powertrain, I think I will wait for new Regal, no need for big car anymore and, thanks GM, my old 05' Allure CX is still going strong.

Love the look... I'd be serious about it if they hade a high-output / high performance version (as there is no Pontiac GXP lineup anymore, Buick should have something to replace the GXP line.... maybe GNX :)

Think "low-volume SHO killer" Beauty and Brawn Buick.... OK, time for me to step back into reality from dream land, but regardless, this appears to be a nice ride, just misses out on a performance model to fill the where that Pontiac should have been if handled correctly.

I'm totally puzzled by the love for this car's styling. The proportions absolutely stink. They graft 'retro' character lines from the '49 Buick - which at least had the proportions to carry them off - onto this horror. Look at that cowl - Jesus it's like a VAN or pickup. Just look how tall it is. The 3/4 view is especially disgusting because of that bizarrely tall hood line.

What am I missing?

Do you have kids? I'm the proud owner of a 2 year-old. "Looking out the window" loses its luster after 10 minutes, at most. Then he's kicking your seat, whining, and finding any manner to get out of his seat. Pop in a Wonder Pets DVD and he's set for the whole drive.

While I'm also not a fan of built-in rear seat DVD players, portable ones are a god-send (ours attach to the front head rest).

I still haven't seen one here in the center of Chicago. And we're supposed to be (or at least we were a decade or so back) Buick's best market (LOL - guess that must have been pre-China!).

Gonna have to say your a pretty weak parent (Yep all on you)

Anyways. Love this vehicle. It's not perfect, but I don't know of any car I could call that.
I however do NOT want a Performance version of this car, as its too heavy to begin with. I'm tired of the trend (add 45 horse) add 320 lbs. When you could have stuck with the OLD drivetrain and if you dropped the weight a hundred and 30 lbs and get nearly the same performance with better gas mileage, drivetrain logevity, and handling.
