I agree with the vertical tail lamps for a Monte Carlo. I own a '01 Monte and the rear is by far my favorite element. But, Since i was using the SS as a template, I kept the taillights as is. I should have some down time over the next few days and will certainly take a crack at it, might take awhile to make it fit

I, for one, love it. That front end is ten times more aggressive than what we're getting. My only suggestion with your two door Monte Carlo chop, it needs the signature vertical taillights. Would you do a fresh chop with true Monte Carlo style taillights?

**Updated for a third time but left all the original stuff in order from top to bottom just to show process**

Now, doesn't that look more like a family? 4 Door 5 Seat, 2 Door 4 Seat, 2 Door 2 Seat. Impala just thrown in for recent design comparison as the SS IMO is a love child between the Camaro, Corvette, and Impala.

Still not a fan of that big plastic piece in the middle but i kept it to keep it as close to its down under counter part.

UPdate, a little less asian of a look

    FINAL UPDATE:

Now its a new Monte, here's the rear to prove it.
