Yes it looks like a European Opel model from a styling standpoint

Id like to know the reasons for this, but Chrysler ran with it and is now used in the 300 and Jeep models successfully.

Maybe they could use the Opel 2.0lt diesel in the VF for Europe. The new 1.6 maybe better as it produces similar power and torque to the 2.0, but significantly better economy.

Its seems to sell well in the Insignia, and the base VE Omega is only about 50kg heavier than the diesel Insignia. The VF probably the same as Insignia, if not a little lighter.
    Agreed.

It would be nice to see the Opel Omega (and even the Opel Senator) return

They could, but Opel's image may not allow for a full rollout of these with diesels and whatnot. At best, maybe some performance oriented trims that sell five or six a year (exaggeration ... or is it?) as with Vauxhaull in the UK. It'd would've been like trying to sell the VE here as a Saturn flagship.

A Chevrolet "bow tie" badge is all it takes to make this Holden, hideously awful.

I think it only sells in the UK because of the Walkinshaw link to HSV I doubt they would consider it unless it had a Diesel engine in the lineup. But I could see it as a Opel/Vauxhall Flagship

    New VF as an Opel

The rear tail lamps and the interior really make me think of Opel!
Do you think the VF Calais could be shipped to Europe to spearhead the Opel lineup?
