Thanks, very nice rendering that will keep the SS in the news/interest for quite a while. For sure it will be very successful as long as the price is competitive. They won't be dumping these at National Rental counters.

Of course there is a business case, but does GM WANT to produce rwd and v8 cars or just all variants of fwd? To me that is the question!

    Add a Sweepspear too.

    John Starns would like that.

Not necessarily, the economy & auto sales were in a downward spiral & gas prices were spiking.
The G8 was launch at a very bad time. The G8 as a Chevy at that time would have done just as poorly, maybe worse. So stop spewing the nonsensical rhetoric that if any of the Pontiac cars were Chevys' that they would've sold better. The economy is better now & continues to slowly improve, even though gas prices have dropped a little, people are not as shocked by gas prices spiking as they were back then. So it is possible that the "SS" could sell better, but then again, maybe not. If I were in the market for a brand new non-luxury(MB/BMW/Cadillac/etc. excluding Chrysler) RWD family sedan, Dodge would likely be the winner, since Ford doesn't offer any.

The 04-06 GTO was meant to be a short-lived model & was marketed/launched wrong.
Bob Lutz has even said so.

Chevy should only offer family & economical FWD/F-AWD cars, minivan(if any) & CUV's. Nothing more.
No trucks, sporty/performance vehicles of any kind. Nothing RWD/R-AWD or 4x4.
GM has other brands alive or currently dead that can & should be focused on specific markets/segments instead of having Chevy in nearly every segment that it possible get into.

A resurrected Pontiac offering RWD/R-AWD sporty/performance cars(3-4) could be doing just as well as the rest of GM is reportedly doing.

Pontiac CAN still return, it's not necessarily dead forever.
There is ALWAYS hope it can & will.

NOW BACK TO MAIN TOPIC, PLEASE.

Personally, I am not appreciating the hexagonal lower grille, but I can understand that it is directly inspired by the SS race car. Monaro, would this treatment be your choice for the SS's lower grille? If not, how would you handle the design?

Actually I would probably have gone a whole other way....

Monaro can you put the new VF body on the Caprice/WM's wheelbase, I would love to see the features of the VF on the long wheelbase.

Esp. not as a Chevy, as Chevy shouldn't have nor deserve a car such as this.
Pontiac definitely deserved a car like this as it had before & should be again.

MonaroSS, Please do a Pontiac version w/"Grand Prix" on it in a 3-4 colors, black being one of them.
    Also a GNC ute variation.
    Thanks!

    Great work, MonaroSS.
