I agree with you! The seventies propelled General Motors on so many levels. And then, in 1980, everything that could possibly derail the direction GM needed surely happened. Now, I feel GM has an obligation to restore its family of divisions but keep it "simple stupid". It was not until the Japanese began introducing refined and larger automobiles into the market that GM began to feel the thrust of consumer expectation; GM was blindsided. As a result, GM revised and renamed its vehicles....G6, G8, Aurora, on and on. I think doing so, conveyed a vulnurabilty out of desparation....consumers sensed this.

Your 1st design looks to be one of a Corvette & the 2nd of a Cadillac.

Your first concept looks a lot like a Fisker!

I read a book a couple years ago aptly titled "The End of Detroit", which pretty clearly explains what has happened to the American auto industry. The theory that the popular Japanese companies are going the way of the American producers of the 70's is quite intriguing. The only issue I have with the theory is that I still find many 70's cars from GM, Ford, Chrysler, and even AMC to be mostly attractive, whereas almost every Toyota and Honda is not.

No...I'm not a GM insider with secrets for the future. I'm a simple "Joe" who can read the writing on the walls! It doesn't take brilliance to follow the pathes of distruction. And believe me, the passion for American automotive enthusiasm is DEAD! It is now not what American autoproducers can create but that which foreign automakers can consume the market. I say...let them have it! General Motors needs to gear-up, forget the teeny-bopper croud and present an upper eschelon of refined automobiles for the mature population....designs that can't be found with Subaru, Ford, Mitsubishi...and God forbid...Dodge/Chrysler!

    Now. Where were we....

Well, most of what I projected years ago has reached fruition...more chrome applications which is nice... and General Motors has eliminated production assignments! Japanese automakers seem to be falling backward and designing the hidious products once seen in the late seventies....here we go again!
Who in the world came up with the parallel parking feature for drunk drivers?
Who wouldn't love this feature? This is kinda like the swivel seat feature...remember this? Come on folks...if you can't get out of a car or parallel park....you most likely shouldn't be driving.
