(VIDEO) ZeaChem Brewing Ethanol Helps Lower Price at Pump

Fill your car for $1.10 a gallon?
    Turning wood chips into fuel
Menlo Park, Calif.'s ZeaChem has come up with a way to turn wood chips into ethanol that will sell for around $1.10 a gallon or less when it comes out in 2010. Brewing and petrochemical technology go into the mix.

Now that is a reasonable price for a gallon of Ethanol. Definitely beats $3.35 a gallon for regular grade gas.

or 1.20$(CDN) a liter, I guess the proposed 1.10$ a gallon of ethanol will be around 50¢ a liter?

$1.10/gal? Sure beats paying $1.10/L that's on the pumps here.

Assuming the dollar's at par, it's closer to $0.29/L.

Ethanol is ethanol. Mix it with 15% gasoline, and you've got E85. So this should be perfectly usable to make the E85 (or any mix from E85 down to E0) which can be used in any E85 capable vehicle (FlexFuel). Or even mixed from E15 down to E0, which can be used in any gasoline capable vehicle.
