    Re: Lots of E85 News

Does anyone know if GM is going to convert any other engines to run on E85? I would assume that they are if 50% is their target. The site only made a passing mention on the goal with no real details on what cars/engines would be E85.

Right now it is only the 3.5 and the 5.3, correct?

In Michigan both Kroger and Meijers are promoting E85. Those two chains alone have made it much easier to find.

For 2008 they added the 3.9 Impala with A.F.M. . They also have some older engines like the old 2.2 that will run E85. But like you I would like to see some details on new engines that would run E85.

Here in Texas, HEB is one of the chains that's got E85. They've got several stores up and down I35.

I found a Kroger next to my place that sells E85. I am filling up with it tonight. It's supposed to be $0.35 less that regular gas.

Good job Kroger. I'm suprised that the 2.9 I-4 in the Colorado/Canyon is not E85 compatible. Especially when the last S-10's can run E85. I wonder the same thing with the 2.0 Ecotec. Does it increase the cost of the engine or make fuel efficiency drop a little running normal gas?

On subject, I still wish I could use some other type of fuel in my car, and seeing companies like Kroeger going for E85 is encouraging.

Back to the topic.... E85 at more station locations is excellent news for those that have E85 vehicles. I'm seeing more and more flex fuel trucks around town, it'll be nice for them to have more places to use the alternative fuel.

I forgot about the 3.9, I would like to see the 3.6 added to the list. E85 in a 3.6 with a tune and a turbo would be sweet.
