Johnson Controls enters renewable energy alliance

Johnson Controls Inc. has formed a strategic alliance with a Canadian company to expand the development and implementation of systems that can convert plant matter into a synthetic fuel to produce energy.
The so-called biomass gasification systems will be made available to customers of Glendale-based Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI), a provider of facility management systems and services. The systems are expected to reduce energy costs, lower greenhouse gas emissions and make customers less reliant on fossil fuel by using locally sourced, renewable biomass fuel, Johnson Controls said Thursday.

    I'm your worst nightmare!

    Just kidding.

I wonder how syngas will be distributed. Given that natural gas and LP gas are not interchangable on appliances, I also wonder if you will have to buy appliances specifically for syngas.

Actually LP & NG are supposedly interchangable with changes in "venturi jet orifices" (I'm NOT certain about the exact phrase) and a regulator as I've been always led to believe...
