    The Saab museum collection in Trollhattan will remain in place, according to reports.

    The administrator acting on behalf of Saab had sought offers for the collection, and had indicated it was willing to break it up in order to maximise the sale price.

    However, the city of Trollhattan, SAAB AB and The Wallenberg Foundation are reported to have paid around £2.6 million to secure the entire collection.

    The museum contains 120 cars and includes the first ever Saab car - the Ur-Saab.

    Well that's something, anyway. Not every dead automotive brand gets its own museum.
    "The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere the ceremony of innocence is drowned;
    The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity. "

    I've always felt there should be a museum in America for some of the defunct American brands, namely Studebaker and Hudson. They were major contenders against the big three for about a 10 year span from post war till the late 1950s, and those cars today bring big bucks at auctions. The 1948 Hudson Commodore and Hornet were better looking than much of what the big three were building at that time, and their inline 8-cylinder engine is legendary. Was a giant in the early years of NASCAR.

    There is a Studebaker National Museum in South Bend, Indiana. When Studebaker stopped making cars they donated their factory collection to the City of South Bend. Over the years the museum has grown and relocated several times. It currently owns over 120 vehicles with around 70 on display at any time. The collection includes numerous early Studebakers as well as one of a kind prototypes and show cars.

    Here is a link to the Studebaker National Museum web-Site.

    I didn't know that. I was going to suggest that they should have one. Wish I had known that a few years ago when I was spending a lot of time at GM-Lordstown. This was right under my nose!
    Another good one is the Duesenberg Museum in Auburn, IN: http://www.automobilemuseum.org/Abou...s/default.aspx

    Don't let the psychos over in that running Pontiac thread know this! They'll storm the place and try to declare it an independent republic.

    LOL!

    But but but ... if they're true Pontiac fans, shouldn't they know about it already?

    Just sayin'........................
