    Off-road-ready 1981 Chevrolet Suburban shows...

...that function over form can be an aesthetic too from what I read on Hemmings blog. https://www.hemmings.com/stories/202...-aesthetic-too

Putting the "utility" in sport utility vehicle is this 1981 Chevrolet K20 Suburban for sale on Hemmings.com. With a ¾-ton chassis, solid axles front and rear, and a manual transmission, it's bound to be as reliable as a hammer. Every accessory here serves a function while off-roading, and judging by the rig's dings, dents, and scratches, every accessory has probably been pressed into service at some point. And hey, that striping along the rockers and that green paint looks understatedly fashionable. From the seller's description:

My First Automotive Boss, arrived in town with a 1984 3/4 Burb, Blue and Silver (center). He came from being a Auto Wholesaler in TO. So when he bought the Dealership, he no longer needed a Personal Vehicle and was selling it.

I almost bit on it, but it didn't have AC. (not that we need AC in NW. Ontario.) I still think of that Burb in the Vehicles I "shuda," along the 30 years of this.

    Vehicles like,

    1977 Scrambler
    1990 Reatta
1975 Granada ($400, rust free 2 dr) The guy bought it for the 9" rear end.
2003 Marauder, (wasn't cheap but very low miles) That thing was fast in it's day.
1979 LTD II, My Aunts, 2dr 21,000kms in 1994. Never winter driven.
    1990 Sprint Turbo.
    1995 Rivera
1997 Bonneville SSE (no i) (Parents Trade for a 2000 Century???)
1983 Monte Carlo (also Parents trade)

Among a few, so many memories!!!

Cool. Wonder if it was a US Forest Service vehicle?
