    GM's LT5 - DOHC 6.2 v8 on the way.

I do recall predicting this was the case. Most likely the Z/28's engine, some model of Corvette (Z06 would have been ideal...).

Or forced induction. Just like the last LT5.

Since the 1LE falls smack dab in the middle of the GT350 and GT350R for performance, I imagine this, with around 510-540hp will put the hurt on the GT350R

DOHC heads on a LT1 block, or a new architecture based on Caddilacs V8, or somewhere in between.

Being a DOHC design, why wouldn't 575-600 HP be possible? What am I missing here??
Ford's advantage has been the breathing efficiency/tuning possibilities inherent in a DOHC configuration

6.2L is almost 20% more displacement than Ford's 5.2 which puts out 526HP. Granted the 6.2L isn't likely to be a FPC with crazy RPM capability but a 15% improvement over the 5.2 could be feasible?

There have been engineering proposals with DOHC on the smallblock architecture.

Just a shot in the dark guess, but I don't think it will be more than 550hp. That in itself is nearly 100hp more.

Perhaps it will be, we know the lt1 uses a baby cam and could have very easily been high 400s.

I notice on that page, many of the engines have GM, GMNA or GME listed at the end, any significance?

(the one in question just has GM)

It is for the Y body, which is Corvette, right?

So does this mean that DOHC V8s are now OK and necessary because GM is doing one?

I would prefer they stick to the small block, but if its DOHC vs smaller forced induction, I'll take DOHC.

Hmmmm... why wouldnt this be on the CT6? If it is on the Z28 thats alot of investment for a car not selling particularly well.
