Highly unlikely I'd be in the market for a V6 anything Commodore wise with their current crop of motors.

    Fair enough

Some people have asked for the thread to guage reaction

I for one think the V option is prefered because the SIDI motor is not "performance" enough for the Redline treatment

Some people want the options of the V without the V8

Exactly. I really like the V and Redline but don't like the FE of the V8. So a SV6 V or Redline would be perfect.

    Not redline...

I can see people wanting 19's/ FE3/ Brembos's etc. But that renders the top of the line vehicle common.

If someone who buys a 6 wants the goodies there are plenty of people offering this stuff after market. But my guess is most of their sales are to SS, not SV6, owners.

In fact, on further reflection am totally opposed to this.

Think HG GTS Monaro with the 186S. Great marketing move but does little for the integrity of what is supposed to be the high end performance model.

Why put track suspension and brake packages designed for track work on a vehicle with less go than others on the showroom floor?

SV6 TT Redline would be fitting of the performance package with 19's, brembos head up display and all the other goodies the SSV Redline offers. But with cloth seats and leather as an option

    Yes.

I'm pretty certain you can option them ex Holden as well.

Redline has been pushed as the high end, some commentators comapring it to HSV entry level. I'd hate them to dilute the package by using it to sell baubles for marketting purposes.

Yes I agree which is why I voted for an SV6 V but no Redline

Re: V or redline option for SV6 Commodore

This is the downside to option packs.

I remember way back when you selected a trim, motor, gearbox and then looked at the options. Rather than packs you could otion anything and everything. I once had a HJ Kingswood that had been specced ex factory to almost GTS spec, the only thing missing was the mudguards. Even had the GTS instrument cluster.

Maybe Holden should allow buyers to add goodies to lower spec vehicles to create their own upspec.

Imagine a 6 litre Omega with FE3, brembo's etc. (Maybe not...) It would give the buyer of lower spec the stuff they want, without diluting the high spec models.

I think the Redline would be the better option, as a "V6 SSV" would be remarkably close to a Calais, without bodykit.

I don't really care about the 19's or FE3 but I'd like to be able to add a couple of the other things to it like the keyless start, Colour Head-up Display, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning Sunroof & Bose® Audio Package
