    Captiva Maxx audio/screen upgrade

    Good day

This is my first post on this forum....
I have a 2007 Holden Captiva MAXX 3.2L V6 version and looking to update the stereo and screen.I have found this upgrade and wanting to know if anyone seen / heard / tried this unit ?

    http://www.driveav.com/product/HOLDE.../0630/309.html

It is just under a +/-NZ$950 delivered to my home in NZ.(including camera and custom tax+gst)

So question is will this work or any suggestions is welcome. As it should just plug in and play. what do i have to loose in trying .... if not working can always put it on ebay /trademe ..... lol

Welcome aboard. haven't heard anything about this unit but from the quick check there are no reports of problems coming on search. the price seems a little rich as they are available in Au for AUD400 but this may be for units without the camera. Do some searching for SWE-H7294 to confirm for yourself. The units are made in Shenzhen and are about the price for units from there.

    Re: Captiva Maxx audio/screen upgrade

thanks i did and got quoted the price of US$560 (unit) + US$20 (camera) + US$70 (shipping) = US$650 then custom charges (+/- NZ$155) + gst(15%) on top of that. This is worked out to be around +/-NZ$900.

...... so must make a decision on spending that kinda money/dollars for new complete unit with extras features or just get wireless rear-view mirror with camera and keep GPS on dash.

then there is the option for side step/runners i also want.

How about just getting an aftermarket unit in the dash that's not as integrated?

Might not Look as flash but would do the same job for probably half as much coin

I had an integrated unit on a Toyota Rav 4 a couple years ago and found the unit to be fine. I bought mine from a different site direct from China and had no issues. After 6 months the screen bacame faulty and the issue was actually dealt with and screen replaced. it was a bit of stuffing around sending it back OS but couldn't fault the service which surprised me somewhat. They did units for alot of manufacturers including top end marques like Audi and even Porsche .
They also do units for Chev products including Cruze not sure about Captiva though

yes does make it easier/cheaper to do aftermarket head unit and can get harness to make it work with steering wheel. Sound is not and issue as sound is great from stock speakers and 6 disc head unit. I would just like to make it stock but more extras. might just sell all my extra computers and go thru the shed and see how much i can salvage from selling and decide from there.

thanks for all the input and suggestions.....

    Re: Captiva Maxx audio/screen upgrade

Digging up an old thread, but has anyone actually bought/installed/used the SWE-H7294? I am leaning toward it but although I can find talk about it, I can't find anything from anyone who has actually gone ahead...or about how good its performance is (does it do what it should?).
Any reviews/input would be most welcome.
